Adjuster inspected my home on Sept. 22. Since then I have gotten zilch in writing from my ins. co. One phone call where they lowballed me, and a later voicemail where they said they were redoing it to replace the roof.
We are well past the 30 days for the 50% penalty, and only 2 weeks away from the 60 day mark which opens the door for treble damages. I have never been litigious in my personal life because I do this shite for a living. But it's about to go down, bro.

Could you just bend over and take it up the arse so rates don't go up for the rest of us, please?

In the insurance industry, sales side.
Been having some trouble on some claims, and others paid and done with. Anything that has crawford and company on it for the claims handling, just get ready to fight. I am pretty sure a requirement to be hired is you must be past retarded and not even know how to spell your name.

Have you called your local agent?

What company?
Mine went about as easy as it could have. Received my full payment 3 weeks ago.

Because that’s how they got to be billion dollar insurance companies.

Mine go closed out with a quickness. The adjuster came out and his estimate was less then my deductible so the insurance company closed the claim. No money paid.

If they insist on screwing up and making you money on your claim then they get what they deserve.

Was adjusted around that time... haven't even gotten anything yet.
Our damage was less than other people so we have tried to be patient but this is insane.
We call and call the assigned representative, always get voice mail. I've left 7 or 8 messages.
Called the agent... they say they will look into it and never do.
Same agent and same company for Zeta... had a check 3 weeks after hurricane.

Sorry to hear man. Filed claim 3 days after storm. Got first check 2 weeks later and supplemental 2 weeks ago. Trees and debris gone and new roof on the house.

I know what this means, of course. But for those less knowledgeable, can you explain what this is so I can get the extra 50% on my claim?

Mine dropped checked me about 3 weeks after the adjuster showed up. Had my PA show up a few weeks ago and admitted that because of how shitty the process has been, he is inundated with work and to not expect a report from him until after Thanksgiving.
The weird part for me is my attorney has been really quiet. Had a yes/no question for them 2 days ago and they still haven't responded.

I just had a FEMA rep finally call me for the first time about my damn chainsaw claim. Apparently even though the eligible date of purchase was BEFORE the hurricane, I can only be reimbursed if I used it to clear my driveway or debris off my house.
The frickin federal gubmint…

The 50% penalty is calculated on the amount of the “undisputed portion” which the case law says is the amount upon which reasonable minds could not disagree. You’d do well to have your own estimate made to prevent proof problems in case you do litigate, to say nothing of having a better chance to get your claim properly paid without having to sue.
ETA I’m working a few cricket claims now. State Farm and Souhern Fidelity. I think they underpay the field adjusters.

You didn’t tell them you’re a hero of the insurance industry?

My claim is complicated. We think it is a tear down and provided professional opinions to support that position. They are basically ignoring those opinions and the current offer is way too low. Insisting I bring them a quote to move forward. Contractors I have spoken to don’t want to touch it, and have documented as such which we provided to the carrier. Not sure where to go from here
