Rural Home Security

What’s the best way to go as far as preventing a break in on a remote home? Wife and I have a 120 year old farmhouse on about 500 acres recently burglarized and we want to prevent or deter future break ins. We are only able to get out there once every 3 weeks; this is the first trouble we have had in 15+ years.
Both egress doors have security doors. Previous break in, thieves entered through side lite window and kicked out door from the inside. Replaced all mounting hardware on both doors with 4” screws through the jams.
Other than that, what should we do? Game cameras may help but only after the fact. WiFi we have is satellite based and spotty at best for a SimpliSafe type system and there’s no hard phone line available. Should I just get loud door alarms or try something else? Any and all advice is welcome.

Let someone responsible live on the place for free in exchange for keeping an eye on it.

Do you have cell service there? Many systems can operate only on cell service.
Anything you choose, short of turning it into a fotress, won't do much to actually prevent breakins. May just help catch the criminals.

You don't need wifi for a SimpliSafe system unless you want live video. The sensors and alarms will all work with their onboard system which connects to cell towers.

They sell motion detecting “fake dog barking” alarms. Might not work, but better than nothing.

Once they break in, they will likely be back if they feel like it. Especially a home on that amount of acreage and isolation.
My now late father-in-law died and within a couple weeks of his passing, his home was broken into, along with a shop out-building and stuff was stolen.
They made off with a John Deere riding mower, other power lawn equipment, shop & hand tools from his shop/storage shed and some of the furniture from his house.
Oh, and his house was on 7 acres and no more than 40 ft. off a gravel road in CENLA with his closest neighbor less than 500 ft. away.
I got the call from a concerned neighbor who noticed doors open and I drove up to board up the house with plywood covering all points of access and damn if they didn't break in again using the back door not seen from the road.

IF there is cell service there, a Qolsysy system will do everything you want.
A few cameras outside and inside the doors, then door sensors and a motion or 2.
If someone comes near the house from outside (cameras have geofencing areas that will trigger when an imaginary line is crossed) you get a video clip on your phone...in real time. If they then open a door or get inside and trip a motion, the system will call a central station and police will be dispatched. You can also install a camera at the point where someone would drive up to get a video of the car as well.
Bottom line, you get video right away when they appear on property, and a dispatch if they try and get in.

Thanks for the replies. It is fenced thankfully. It looks like SimpliSafe or Qolsysy system will do the trick with cellular monitoring. Had no idea alarm systems had advanced that far.

You can use a cellular game camera to monitor the driveway

I have several of these at my farm and they work great.

Rural security of an unoccupied house is next to impossible.
My buddy leaves his camp unlocked these days because he got tired of replacing the kicked in door. He just takes everything valuable when he leaves. Too bad it's illegal to put a bear trap inside the front door.

Yea, this. Short of turrets and land mines there's not much you can do. Just leave the door unlocked and don't leave anything valuable there.

Growing up, family had a weekend ranch in South Texas that frequently had illegal aliens walking thru on their way north. We had a house trailer that was always being broken into. My stepfather somehow rigged the electric fence charger to the trailer's door and it was never broken into after that.
