Feeling fortunate today. I hope more large companies take this route.

You may have seen in the news yesterday that OSHA has issued the Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) that applies to U.S. employers with more than 100 employees. A couple of the key points are around requirements for unvaccinated employees to wear masks at work and employers to mandate vaccination or provide a weekly testing alternative (effective Jan. 4). The deadline for employees required to be vaccinated under the Federal Contractor vaccine mandate has been extended to Jan. 4.
The full ETS and supplementary material exceed 500 pages. Our teams are working to thoroughly understand the implications of these regulations and how they apply to @@@@@@@,so we can carefully determine the best path forward. Vaccination is a personal choice, and some associates may not be comfortable with vaccine requirements. Where possible, we plan to offer a testing alternative.

Interesting, I know of a few that already have their separation date (on or about 23 Nov). Wonder how that will play out for them.
Waiting to hear from HR how the rest of us will play out.

This vaccine mandate shite is pure evil.

They need to implement a no exemptions rule to Congress and staff first and wait 6 months to decide on this . If it works- eh and if it doesn’t we can’t mask at the voting booth for a new set of “ leadership “

My daughter's company said much the same. And they included that they were not wanting to pit the opinions of one group in the company against the other group. All in all it was a very "mature" decision.

The companies that don’t knee jerk react will steal the best talent.

Offered a job with a contractor with the feds which will pay me $50 - $60 dollars more a day. I'll have to walk away from it if they don't accept my religious exemption.
The interesting thing regarding the exemptions is the contractor gets to decide if its valid so I guess I'll be seeing how bad they want me to work for them.

I wish more large companies would decide they don't need the federal contracts and tell the government to pound sand. The government cannot function without its private subcontractors and unfortunately the private subcontractors would rather sell their souls for those juicy arse government jobs than take care of their employees.

It would be great if there was a list somewhere noting which companies bent the knee here and allowed mandates knowing full well this is going to be struck down.

Praise the Lord for that blessing.

Biden plan to make unvaccinated workers pay for Covid testing could backfire
The prospect of hitting businesses with new testing costs as many struggle to staff back up could harden opposition to Biden’s plan, and hamper the president’s latest push to end the pandemic.
The administration says firms can make employees who opt out of the shots pay for required weekly testing. Business groups and labor-law experts argue that existing laws will likely require companies to cover those costs for workers who claim religious or disability exemptions to the Covid-19 vaccines, at a price that could reach hundreds of dollars per person each month.

It also comes at a politically dicey moment for Biden and Democrats, who faced surprise losses in last week’s election and have struggled to push their infrastructure and social safety-net legislation through Congress. Didn't federal court freeze the mandate- making is (temporarily) invalid?

Even dems and most independents dont like this mandate stuff. Dems just lost the white house 2024

I have learned this in the past with government regulations in business. Several times they have come up with some idea to enforce large scale changes to things, and then walk it back and then you dont hear about it anymore . Businesses that jump right in are often wasting time and resources trying to comply with pointless regulations. Im never the first to implement more government red tape into my business. Even on a local and state level theyre a bunch of overreaching busybodies.

I'm sure you could find a guy to be the company "doctor" and do in house "testing" =)

Making unvaccinated people wear masks is the stupidest thing ever!
And allowing the vaccinated to go maskless is even more stupid!
So, masks are now a form of punishment/reward!
Worst Administration EVER, in the whole world!

Our company was informed that the mandate won’t be enforced and they’ll fight it in court
