The White House on Monday urged businesses to move forward with implementing rules for coronavirus vaccines after a federal court stayed President Biden’s vaccine-or-test mandate for private companies.

“We think people should not wait,” White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday. “We say, do not wait to take actions that will keep your workplace safe. It is important and critical to do and waiting to get more people vaccinated will lead to more outbreaks and sickness.”

“We’re trying to get past this pandemic, and we know the way to do that is to get people vaccinated,” Jean-Pierre added.

The Biden administration maintains that it is on firm legal footing after a federal appeals court in New Orleans temporarily blocked the rule, which was developed by the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), on Saturday.

“The administration clearly has the authority to protect workers, and actions announced by the president are designed to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19,” Jean-Pierre said Monday, noting that the Justice Department would be defending the rule in court.

The three-judge panel on the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals cited "grave statutory and constitutional issues" with Biden's rule in issuing the stay on Saturday. All three judges on the panel were appointed by Republican presidents.

It’s unclear how long it will take for legal disputes around the vaccine rule to be resolved. More than two dozen state attorneys general as well as other organizations are challenging the rule in court.

White house urges public to ignore the judicial branch.

Please dont wait to take steps to mitigate this emergency that we became aware of 2 years ago, with a vaccine approved for emergency use almost a year ago, and fully approved 2 months ago.

But please, dont wait. Time is of the essence. Every minute wasted is millions dead!

Always subverting the rule of law. It never fails.

Democrats hate the law and disrepect it at every turn (even though they are in charge of...you know...actually writing the law :lol).

Imagine the reactions of posters like texridder and Tboy if Trump did this!

"Constitutional crisis"

"Unprecedented lawlessness"

"Threat to democratic norms"

The people are the rankest of rank hypocrites.

So with OSHA stayed and likely injuncted by Wednesday, doesn't the rule of "law" fall to the states.

So Florida, Texas, Tennessee, etc... ban on vaccine mandates from businesses be in effect?

The Biden-Harris administration does this with regularity.

Think the MSM will call them out for being "dictators" by telling business to ignore another branch of government? Trump would be skewered for doing that.

(A) He would have been impeached.
(B) Yup, he would have been called a dictator for telling private business what decisions to make. And, the "my body, my choice" brigade would be rioting.

Eh urging businesses isn’t the same as making them.

If they penalized businesses after the court ruling that would be subverting the law. Asking them to please do it doesn’t mean shite and businesses can give Biden the middle finger
