You know why daylights saving time change hasn't been changed?

Because those greedy bastards cant find a way to make $$$$ off of it. You bet your sweet arse when money is to be made they will pass the legislation..

i just can't get fired up about DST, either way

It's because Old Daylight Savings Time Money have elite lobbyists that keep the legislature from getting rid of their cash cow.

The rest of your life doesn’t adjust with it, though. Work still starts at the same time and ends at the same time. Your kids go to and leave from school at the same times. So while you may have equal amounts of daylight, it’s not equal in practice unless you have zero obligations and can restructure your life around the difference.

For me it’s really just switching back and forth. It’s an abrupt change to your internal clock. I’m all for avoiding it, and think DST makes more sense as regular time would have the sun coming up before 6am in the summer. But would be fine with sticking to either.
