The reality is the citizens of the city support Cantrell and all her insane policies and her lockdowns.
It's not just the poor blacks that support her. She doesn't get to that level without a lot of support from whites and wealthy.

“She’s pretty much where someone like Mitch Landrieu was, who was relatively popular. New Orleanians tend to really love their Mayor, this is why they are reelected, no Mayor has been denied a second term in modern New Orleans history,” said Chervenak. “They seem to be giving her a pass on the Ida recovery and are giving her credit for dealing with COVID.”

It "suffering" brings down the greater NOLA area, and to an extent, the state, down with it.

Ask her black supporters what she has done to earn their support and listen to the crickets sing. It's amazing how the only qualification to get one's vote is be African.

I have never once, in person, met a single individual who approves of anything Teedy has done as mayor. I live here, and that informal poll includes people of all races and backgrounds from homeless folks to small business owners, lawyers, service industry employees, security guards, first responders, tour guides, construction workers, dock workers, accountants, street performers, professional musicians, cab drivers, artists, journalists, fishermen, and even government employees. I have not found a single person who likes Teedy and approves of the job she’s doing.
