Willie Green says doctors are encouraged by Zion’s latest scans.
Zion up to 5-on-0 work. Can cut, can do explosive work.
Will be another set of scans in 2-3 weeks. Those will determine next step in his return to play.
quote:
Green: “He is progressing to do on the court work. … still not 5 on 5 competitively yet. He’s cutting. He’s doing explosive work. He’s getting closer and closer.”
Green says team will be careful with the foot before they let him be a full go.

Welp, might as well pull a GS or LAC and just take the L for the season and hope we get a top 5 pick.
Focus on trying to develop Kira/Hayes/NAW into actual NBA level players.

This is what all of us have been saying, I'm not sure why anyone is surprised now.
2 weeks of 1-0 work, scans, 2 weeks of 5-0 work.
You should expect another 2 weeks of 5-5 work after that at least.
I previously thought sometime around November 19-21, before we had word that he wasn't doing any cutting or running in straight lines.
Now it definitely seems like first week of December is optimistic.
Unfortunately, the season will be over by then. the good news is that its all on Zion, and if we start winning with him, we can show that the only missing formula for us is for him to give a frick and care for his body.

Zion said he expected to play game 1 this season.
There's been no setbacks reported, quite the opposite from the team.
Something is amiss!
But season 3 of Zion is officially lost, it's done.

Glad he’ll be back to 100% just in time to ruin our chances at a top lottery pick. There needs to be concessions made about his trainer/nutritionist, aka mom and dad, in order for him to have a legit chance to play 82 games. Otherwise, he’s a walking injury and we may as well trade him

From Will Guillory:
“Willie Green says Zion Williamson had his scans done on his foot. He's cutting, doing some work on the floor.
He still isn't cleared to do any 5-on-5 work. The plan is for him to get another round of scans in 2-3 weeks that'll free him up to be a full participant in practice.”
I would guess early December before we see him in games. I’m also guessing there will be some sort of reduced minutes initially, without the bursts that Zion hates.

i told you goobers he wasn't coming back until January, and that was well before we knew about these scans taking place.
I mean, we might be 8-27 by new years.
Just being 1-6 right now, with a high probability of losing the next 4 and being 1-10, we'd have to be on a 48 game win pace for the remainder of the season just to finish at .500 and have any semblance of a shot at the play in game.

Who wants to bet they won't be as encouraged 2-3 weeks from now.

Feels like Zion is just running out the clock to avoid more wear and tear until he can gtfo
