Saban has the best resume for LSU, but like Rhule they are both currently coaching teams and will be for quite a while.

That would be a great hire.

Better than:

Tucker
Napier
Franklin

and a slew of others.

Problem with Rhule is that Brady was a glove fit for LSU offense and their relationship is cracking.

I think Rhule would be a slam dunk. I just have no idea if he’s ready to leave the NFL yet.

Why is that a problem with Rhule?

Yeah, I think we're a year early for Rhule...and possibly Aranda.

They have the Patriots, Cardinals, WFT, and Dolphins before the college Early Signing period and are 3-4 right now. Say they go 1-3, 2-2 at best you are looking at 4-7/5-6, is that enough to feel a little heat and listen to LSU if he is indeed not all in on the NFL?

Edit: Scratch that, they have the falcons this weekend, but the point still stands

Why on God's green Earth would someone leave an NFL HC position to come to LSU. I hope like hell that the powers in Baton Rouge are being more realistic with their search than our fans. Matt Rhule was NFL bound when he was at Baylor and in the NFL he is going to stay.

Tell me your favorite Matt Rhule signature win while HC in college....

Choose one...(yes, these are the only ranked teams he beat)

2014 Temple defeats #21 East Carolina

0r

2016 Temple defeats #20 Navy

No wins over ranked teams while at Baylor.

It would never happen!

Except for insert Bama for LSU and it did happen.

I do agree that it’s pretty unusual and unlikely

Matt Rhule may not be all in on NFL

It may not be realistic, but it has been floated out there

We will have a coach by early December. Timing doesn’t work.

There have been NFL coaches that left for worse college jobs than LSU.

Different situation. Rhule is still young enough to bounce around the NFL to other spots if it doesn't work out in Carolina. He's not going to bail on them this soon. It would be a bad look if he ever wanted to get back to the NFL.

If it were even remotely possible though I would shut down the search now and hire him in a second.
