For me, there was nothing better than being out with your friends dressed in your costume on that dark and cool night Halloween night. I will never forget the guy down the street from us who dressed as Jason and chased us down his driveway with the chainsaw. Then getting home and seeing your stash of what you got. My parents usually always took us around but the last couple years decided to just go out with friends. This was in the 90's when you didn't have to worry about psychos at every corner. Those were some of the best times of my life.

My favorite Halloween used to be when I was 8 years old and dressed like a ninja. I went all the way through my big neighborhood collecting candy and then one of the last houses I went to dumped the rest of their bowl into my bag before turning off the lights for the night.

That was my favorite Halloween for a long time until I got to college and had sex on Halloween night.

Watching my kids beats anything from my childhood. And I had some awesome Halloween times, especially when the witch and gorilla scared the shite out of my brother

Actually that was a thriving time for sadistic serial pedos. We just didn’t know it at the time. “Anyone seen little Timothy?” Anyway for me I was about 7 and one of our friends down the street had a carpenter dad that built a fake guillotine and a coffin for us to put a stuffed fake dead person. Might have been a vampire. My family hosted a block party and our whole street was invited. Everyone went all out dressing up. We had witches, clowns, mummy’s, etc. We had a bowl of fruit punch we labeled blood with a fire and a big wooden box with a hole the kids would get in line for where “someone’s” hand ,to this day idk who lol, would reach out to give us candy. I will never forget it.

Late 90’s college Halloween. A buddy and I dressed as Hans and Franz from the SNL skit. We got cheap gray warmup suits and used pillow stuffing to pump up our muscles. Neither of us was out of shape but we certainly weren’t Arnold Schwarzenegger yoked. But the pillow stuffing did the trick.

We went to the Texas club and stayed in character whole time. We got talked in to entering the costume contest and got second place.

We had so much tail hitting on us after that it was unbelievable. I actually had two chicks almost fight over who was fancy with me. Never in a million years would that normally happen.

We hooked up with to girls and took them back to their apartment for a romp.

Gotta say, even though it was CLEAR that we were not that muscular, when the clothes came off and the stuffing came out, my girl seemed a little disappointed

It was the last time I disappointed a woman in bed though

I honestly don't recall a great Halloween. My neighborhood didn't participate too much so we had to do the "ship off to the good neighborhood". Then it just gets weird in my opinion.

I dressed up as a cop and went out in Buckhead. A real cop comes up to me and goes "kid, don't dress up as that again next year."

The ones from my childhood all kind of run together, but I have very fond memories from all of them that exist in my mind like random snapshots.

Greenway Street in Shreveport used to be a primo trick or treating spot. As recently as the 90’s, it would get absolutely packed- cars crammed in the street, hundreds of kids in costume walking the sidewalks of the long and meandering road with dozens and dozens of decorated and participating houses. The coolest thing I ever saw anyone do on Halloween was dress up in a really good Michael Myers costume and just lurk in the shadows of dark yards. Totally alone, never spoke to anyone, he just lurked and scared the shite out of people simply by being there. And just like in the movies, you’d see him and point him out as you passed, but then somehow the fricker would be posted up ten yards down, just lurking and brooding. Greenwood Mike Myers dude: if you’re reading this, you’re a legend.

My favorite Halloween as an adult would be visiting my hs girlfriend at her wacko all-girls liberal arts college. I banged her to sleep fairly early in the night, so I took like $15 and trick or treated at the hotel vending machine. Went back to the room and crushed a mini fridge full of different craft beers while pigging out and watching a TV Land Halloween marathon.

Being a dad and getting to take my kids trick or treating and telling spooky stories to a group of them around a fire.

Being a dad is seriously the best thing ever.

Trick or treating on an Amry base, they have HUGE housing areas for families so every house has kids. Sometimes you had to stand in line to get your candy. It was a blast, kids everywhere, all the candy you can get, and it was safe being on a military base.
