Depends on if they’re on successful teams or not. Yeah, they’re overrated if the team they analyze sucks. Lol

If he promotes Russ Callaway in 2020 you could make a real argument he still has his job.

Russ callaway came in 2020. Are you saying callaway should've been the oc?

i wondered this since the Ms St game last year. No way out analysts didn’t see that every team ran zone to stop Leach’s offense.

Everybody that knows anything about football on here said this numerous times last year. Rush 3 drop 8 and wait for the mistakes or incompletions.

So what does Pelini do? Man all game. Like wtf did they do all summer? What did these analysts suggest that an entire messsge board knew the answer to the test already but the professionals making millions, Pelini and O, had no clue.

And sure enough what did we do this year? What everyone suggested last year. And who’d have thought, it worked. Pelini should’ve been fired after that first game.

Imagine doing analysis at work for your boss who is a moron. Do you think he would know what to do with it?

Are you asking in an arms race are the arms overrated?

Analysts are just manpower. You can’t have too much manpower.

Sure I'd agree with that

And it's tough to quantify their value but we seemed to place a lot of value on it when times were better if my memory serves me right

Clearly they are overrated that’s why the greatest coach in CFB history has so many of them.

Here’s a thought maybe LSUs numbers dropped off not next analyst are overrated but because O hired shitty ones?

Wouldn't be the first time he has made bad hires

Seemed like people talked about the analysts being a part of our success in 2019 and the need to have a large analyst staff to support the coordinators. Have our numbers dropped off or are they not as important as advertised?

Who needs analysts when you have Jack Marucci, LSU's secret weapon.

They did. Pelini did too.

But O wanted to run his “attacking” defense.

To level the playing field, analysts should be banned. Let all the schools depend on the number of coaches they are allowed. If they have to work harder and longer, so be it. They are paid millions. Eliminating analyst would level the playing field for all schools. Saban started this shite.

What are you, a Tulane fan? We have the money. Why would you want to deny LSU a competitive advantage? Is it just because Saban does it better? Sensible rich people don't support communism.

Answer is dependent on the analyst. I'd say it pays itself bc coaches can spend more time recruiting

Overrated mostly. Saban started this essentially to keep some coaches off the market lest they become a threat.

I think he should have been elevated into the role that Scott Linehan had. PGC. Learned under E for a year and taken over this year if E still wanted to retire

Interesting concept if true.

But seriously, do they weigh the shite for the DBs all week and then see who plays well on Saturday. They find that the heavy shitters are the best, so they start weighing all position groups and make the starting line up based on that. C'mon, I'm not serious, but how much analysis can actually take place?
