DeSantis explained during a segment of Sunday Morning Futures with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that Florida is planning to offer outside law enforcement officers a bonus to relocate to the state. The proposed offer comes amid a wave of officer terminations over refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
"In Florida, not only are we going to want to protect the law enforcement and all the jobs, we are actively working to recruit out-of-state law enforcement because we do have needs in our police and sheriff's departments," DeSantis said, explaining that he has plans to introduce and sign new legislation offering out-of-state police officers a $5,000 bonus in order to relocate.
Only 67% of Chicago PD officers have taken the vaccine. Those that don’t will no longer be paid.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown announced on Oct. 19 that 21 Chicago police officers had been placed on non-pay status over refusing to disclose their vaccination status. Out of the 12,770 employees who work for the Chicago Police Department, roughly 67.7% have confirmed their vaccination status in compliance with a city mandate, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Florida is trying to recruit cops that are leaving places like Chicago to jobs in Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, etc.

I have a better idea. Everyone pay desantis to relocate here to LA.

$5000 would not be enough for me to want to deal with FloridaMan everyday.

As opposed to “Chicago man” or “New Orleans man”?

$5000 to be a cop in FL isn't going to entice a lot of folks. They'd need to sweeten the pot substantially.

The fools in LA don't want a guy like DeSantis running things.
What conservatives need to do is imbed like-minded individuals in liberal enclaves. Project Veritas doesn't get enough credit for the work it does, but that's the kind of investigative journalism that can make a difference. The best remedy to the madness infecting institutions is to reveal the truth for all to see. Even the left knows their ideas are bad for the country. (Example: Look at how Tech executives don't allow their own children on the platforms they've created.)
Ultimately, it's going to take a lot of work to cut out the sickness poisoning the minds of the young, but it must be done.

I mean everyone in Chicago dreams of retiring to FL anyway, so it wouldn't surprise me if they get some candidates.

Is here some kind of online place I can register to be a cop? Sounds like a good gig.

That is an amazing gesture. He truly is such a good man. A man of Christ and a patriot.

$5,000 isn't a lot of money especially when it comes to relocating. But it is a cherry on top when your local municipality is perpetually undermining the efforts of police officers. The cities Desantis singled out are making life exponentially more difficult on policing efforts.
From my understanding "Florida Man" is a thing, simply because all criminal records in Florida are public records and supposedly easy to query. So all of the weird is stuff that occurs in every other state but isn't as easy to find.

"Florida Man" only exists because of the state's Sunshine Law's, which were passed in 1991. They guarantees free public access to Florida's government documents and proceedings, minus some exemptions. Among the allowed documents are police arrest records. Few, if any other states have this level of transparency. I guarantee you if Louisiana had a similar set of laws, you'd see some batshit crazy stuff.
Regarding DeSantis' offer, I like it.

By all means there is some meth/spice infused jackassery going on in this state but the arrest records with all the details are basically given out twice a day. No one has to ask for clarifications because its all there, all the FloridaMan details for the world to see.

Very true.
But rural Florida is very…unique. We can’t discount that as a contributing factor.

They can all be thankful that people are rallying around Brandon in times like these. It’s heart warming to see.

I would work in law enforcement for a $100,000 bonus. It’s just a cartel now.

$5000 won’t even cover moving expenses, that’s not a lot of money .

It’s mostly political posturing but might be enough to an officer in the fence about moving out of Chicago to start a life elsewhere. I’d imagine a career in Florida compared to the streets of Chicago is a nice thought for a few of them.

They're already employed. FL isn't trying to get academy recruits.
It's $5000 to move.
