Could it potentially be hard for Woodward to attract a big name guy?

Dabo and Kiffin didn't seem too thrilled with O being fired. They made remarks like "O is a championship coach only 2 years removed" and "Some of the greatest coaches in history weren't consistent" and "its a tough business". Other coaches are seeing that the expectations of this fanbase may be unrealistic. So could it be harder for Woodward to get his guy with coaches seeing the huge expectations?

No,

CEO isn't being removed because of his wins and losses.

All coaches would say this.

Because both of those coaches know that O is no threat going forward. Anyone who is paying attention can see that O is not the guy to sustain a disciplined championship program

Coaching is a fraternity and they will never call each other out. They all know O was deservingly fired but none are going to say that.

The way he was fired won’t be the reason any of those guys do not come here.

They have to say this during mid season. I don't want any of these guys anyway.

All the candidates are going to shoot down any speculation of them leaving their team mid-season. Also, all these coaches know that O is a clown and deserved to fired, but they are not going publicly eat their own when they could easily be in that position. Lastly, you don't want a coach scared of expectations. You want somebody like Jay Johnson who embraces it and sees it as a challenge.

I agree, i don't think O could fix the problems. Im not by any means saying O should stay. Just seems like other coaches feel his firing is premature. But maybe, like someone else replied, its just coach talk.

It is a definite step up for some but not for others.

We will get the right coach! This is a place you can win championships so great coaches will come here.

Well, no kidding.

Kiffin is O's friend. We think of Kiffin as a cocky jerk, but there's no reason he wouldn't want his buddy to keep his job... this isn't Highlander, where "There Can Be Only One".

As for Dabo, he's had more sustained success than Orgeron, but he's also in a down year. Of course he doesn't want his AD and administration saying "look, LSU made a move".

NO active coach is going to say "oh great, the LSU job is open now, I want to go there" in mid-season. Not publicly. But a whole lot are waiting for their agent to be called by LSU.

Hang on, you’re listening to coach’s response to the media as the word of God?

Shoot me a DM, I’d like to discuss some beachfront property up here in Oklahoma. Killer deals to be had.

Getting top guys from similar programs can be tough, but it's doable.

Who gives a frick what they think? Dabo isn't an option and Kiffin enjoys having at least one game a year where he gets to coach against a retard.

Oh, so they have no reason to undermine LSU at every turn?

Other coaches can see Ed Orgeron overdid it with the TRT and started acted like a hard-legged meathead after winning the championship. They also see that a lesser coach like Orgeron was able to win a championship here. That doesn't happen at lesser programs.

If a coach is scared of those expectations, he is 100% not the guy we should hire.

Please list some great coaches that weren’t consistent.

Yeah Bear had a 6-5 season… I mean He had won 4 national championships before it happened, but it happened.

Also, since Dabo isn’t coming here and his team looks like ahit he’ll just get on his self righteous soap box.

they’re just saying what they’re supposed to say. Put enough zeroes behind that 1 and we could have whoever we want save for Saban.

Yes, he is.

If he were 15-2, 14-3 since 2019 He could have done EVERYTHING that he is alleged to have done over the last two years and he would STILL be the LSU HC, with few, if any, calling for his job.

It's like with anything in life. The more you produce...the more leeway you get for bad decisions. The reality is Ed did not have the record to allow his buffoonery to be overlooked any longer. So in the end, he was fired for wins and loses

I'm in the minority, but I think it will be tougher than some think.

Remember, we had all these options in addition to Coach O and they all declined or went elsewhere.

Could it be different this time, sure, but we shall see.
