Hey may have not liked Orgeron, but I know for 100% FACT that his family LOVED Baton Rouge, and they didn’t want to leave here.

Orgeron and Aranda could've been head over heels in love and he still would've left for the Baylor HC job.

The original thought was that Aranda didn’t want to be a head coach and had his sights set on a NFL defensive coordinator spot. But at the end of 2019, Aranda was set to become head coach at football power UNLV until Matt Rhule got a call to the NFL and Baylor accepted Aranda’s call.

Aranda and Orgeron butted heads in 2019. Aranda was taking the first ticket away from O.

Sounds like they're trying to convince themselves of something

Aranda said he learned more from Coach O than any coach he had been around and thanked him after Baylor hired him. He said O allowed him to be himself and that made the experience even better for him. If he really didn't like O or something, he would not have said all of that because he didn't need to after Baylor hired him. I know O wanted more of an attacking defense following Aranda, but he found out that replacing Aranda was not that simple.

Eh it's just bad practice to badmouth former coworkers. He doesn't strike me as someone that would trash O even if he couldn't stand him.

The Baylor boards also said that Kim Mulkey wasn’t going anywhere

My understanding was his family was in love with Baton Rouge. The thing that changed for Aranda was the promotion of Orgeron. He got to watch the ugly before 2019 and certainly knew all he needed to know about Ed before being offered the Head Coaching spot at Baylor.

He surprisingly loved Baton Rouge. His family really liked it here.

I'm not just saying that, it's well documented and people on here were his neighbors.

O was critical of the 2019 D after the fact, throwing some shade on DA.

I mean he was jumped by an absolute idiot underling who he had to eat shite from for a few years. That would be very grating on me.

Be probably hated having to answer to Ed O. Hence why we made him higher-paid than like 99% of all FCS head coaches

O would not have gotten the job if Aranda did not approve and stay. That message was put out there when O was hired. When Aranda was here O left the defense alone.

Safe to say he prob was happy to get away from O. Aranda is a smart guy. I am sure he would listen if Woody came calling.

Baylor boards don't know anything

I love Dave Aranda and I hope we do everything in our power to get him back.

From what I know, his family really enjoyed their time in Baton Rouge.

He is the man we need to get back to where we need to be
