While driving in SE Arkansas there was a huge bald eagle eating roadkill in the middle of the road. Everyone was able to dodge it while it jumped up and flew away. It's wing span was at least 7'. I did not know they ate roadkill.

I mean they'll take your un-retrieved ducks sometimes but what morons would do this? I knew of an older guy who was with someone who shot a hawk and I guess somewhere after they were caught they tried to lie about it and I think he got some pretty serious time. I was young, but IIRC I think it was in a federal jail.

They have learned to follow the combines around in our area of North Alabama. They will just sit there and wait for a rabbit to run out. After watching them I can say that a red tail hawk is a lot more efficient at grabbing a rabbit. The eagles always have to make multiple dives to get one.

I was on the Jeff last Fall in MT. I watched one dive bomb a flock of mergies several times trying to get one to fly. It was pretty cool. Eventually the eagle gave up.
I see bald eagles almost every day on my place. Now if you want to see a bird, go find a full grown golden eagle.
