The state should not be able to kill its own citizens in non-emergency response situations.

Not correct. The Administration is seeking the death penalty for Tsarnaev.
Though federal executions have been halted since July.

I agree, but I'm sure that makes me a libtard to some of these folks

stated in the top bullet points
The federal government is pushing for the death penalty for Tsarnaev even as President Joe Biden’s Justice Department takes action to halt federal executions.

Juries are not members of the state.

It's amazing how people post links without even reading them. You didn't even have to read the article, as it says this in a bullet point just below the headline.

The Biden administration is asking the justices to reverse an appeals court’s decision to vacate the death penalty for Tsarnaev.

They will allow it for anyone connected to Jan 6 or those who voice concerns at school board meetings.

The court that signs off on their verdict and suggested sentence is.

Have someone testify that he assumed their pronouns, the death penalty will be back on the table.

Just a middleman. Jury decides death or not.

I'm cool with taking away the state's stated ability to kill people in any way I can. So... That's fine with me.

I have always had a big dilemma with the death penalty. Kill my loved one? Hell yes I want you dead. But that’s the emotional response. The Christian man in me strongly believes no man should have the right to kill another man in a non-self defense kind of way.
It’s probably the most liberal view I hold.

If a cop gets a gun pulled on him he should be able to defend himself. Technically that is the government killing a citizen.
