Very very very dumb model because you will always be replacing coordinators and how does a coach that’s not strong in schematics know what to look for when replacing?

I melted when he was hired. Shot off angry emails to everyone at LSU melting about it.
That said, he did win me over in 2018 the Fiesta Bowl season, as it looked like he had the program headed in a positive direction despite my huge concerns with him landing the job to being with.
It really is so weird how all this has played out.

I absolutely didn't agree with the hire, but I was willing to support him and give him a chance. Despite being a national title coach, it did not work out and figured this would be the outcome.

I truly believed that O was a great figure head. I didn’t expect him to be completely incompetent in hiring after he lost Aranda.

But, let’s not forget that they went after Jimbo and Herman first. Ed was then selected. He did fairly well as USC interim and LSU interim. So, fans gave him the chance.
2018 was good. 2019 was all time great. Ed is a poor leader and makes immature decisions. That caught up with him.
As with Les - the time has come to move on. I hope the next coach is a footballl mind, mature decision maker, etc.
I’ll cheer like hell for him.

I didn't want him to be the head coach and his time is up, but LSU went 15-0 and won a national championship with him in arguably the best season ever. There are many coaches who are too stubborn and dumb to get out of the way and allow other people to do what they do best (which is why so few ever win one). Orgeron had that issue in the past, but that year, he basically allowed everyone to do their thing and he helped recruit a lot of great talent. He was super-fortunate, but that season means that his hiring wasn't a complete failure.

*ETA and yes, I supported the hire, and I support the fire. We are seeing two very different Orgerons from then to now.

Are you going to try and cancel people because they made a decision to support the new football coach for the school that they are fans of?
I would rather that there be an IQ test given prior to being able to start a new thread. That surely will weed out some of you window lickers.

I DID NOT want Herman. He WANTED to be at Texas, and I didn't want some dude who kisses players.
I wouldn't have minded Jimbo, I thought he needed a change of scenery, and he might be successful here. In hindsight though, glad we got Ed O. May be time for him to move on, but we got some decent years and a Natty under his watch.
ANYONE who would trade 2019 for Herman or Jimbo is lying or straight up stupid.

Not that my opinion matters, but after his Ole Miss stint, I always thought of Orgeron as a Norm Chow type coach. Great coach who should accept his role as always being a high paid assistant. Not HC material.
Be interested as an outsider to hear what culture he has going that has players in such a tizzy.

Just go look through the posts after the championship of people trying to rub it in that O was a great coach and if you didn’t like the hire you were a moron.
