West Fel as a Parish can't support it. BREC isn't going to run it. If they are truly giving it away, does it make sense for the State to run it?
That is obviously well down the lot of options, but at this point, are there any good options?
Could UClub or another private course take it over and use it as a second course? I don't know financially what that would entail, but thy would be the first country club with multiple course not in the same location.

BR golfers want great golf that’s close for cheap. BREC is EBR, West Fel would be the parish to own it. I think if they did, they could build a bunch of baseball and softball fields in the front but there’s nothing to do in the down time in SFV. West Fel hates progress too, which from their perspective is understandable. It’s laid back atmosphere and residents is what makes the place appealing.
Nobody from UClub is leaving there to play in SFV.

The Bluffs can be great again. Since it's inception, its problem has been that Baton Rouge grew toward Ascension and Livingston as opposed to growing northwest.

If Old Waverly/Mossy Oak can thrive in Bumfrick, Mississippi, there's no reason The Bluffs can't be something similar.

Great, another reminder that even MS is better than Louisiana.

So you're telling me they need to build another 18?

First, Louisiana would be great to come out of the Stone Age in everything.
Then maybe golf would take off, in about 2000 years.

Not to change the subject....... but is anyone thinking of playing Mossy Oak on the way up to the LSU loss to Ole Miss???? I'm in. Lemme know. Friday around noon-2?? Let's book it

Has anyone thought about just adding a sport book on site once Louisiana finally gets that squared away? Add a bourbon bar and have a couple specialty beers available and I think it would attract a lot of people up there to golf, sports bet, and watch some games.

there are only so many Sports Book Licenses in the State of Louisiana and the Casino's have that locked up. Not gonna happen.

Absolutely BC is ??compared
To the bluffs it’s not close.
Problem is bluffs is 30 min farther and usually not
In good shape

Because in the end, you’d still be in St. Francisville Louisiana.

Our group would make the trip up there a couple times a year and stay for a weekend if there was a sportsbook on site. There's too many other options closer to home than the Bluffs.
Not too many people want to go to St.Francisville to play golf there. I really hate that a course has to close but personally if I have a choice, I'm playing somewhere closer.
Anyone take the Bluffs over LSU on the golf course death pool??

Update on the Bluffs: The course has been bought by real estate investor and businessman Grady Melancon alongside Cecil Graves, a local Chevy dealership owner. I believe their plan is to get the club operational then flip it for a profit. Not the deep pockets the club wanted but a step in the right direction. No idea on price

Good luck.

I don’t think ANY club in LA operates at a profit without public or private subsidies.
