Am I expected to provide a PowerPoint presentation backing up my opinion?

North Carolina is a better place to live in my opinion. And to be clear, I don’t think it’s close.

No state income tax in TX. I don't know about NC, but that could be a huge raise. Also depends on Schools; Texas has Independent School Districts, and the public school system is solid. Again, I don't know about public schools in NC.

You have to balance that with sales tax and property tax both of those are much lower in NC.

It depends more on the salary which could vary by the job(s) taken.

cost of living in TX is lower, which means you can buy more property to balance the property tax. Also, TX economy is booming, so salaries keep going up and property taxes are stable. If you have to go private school in NC, then TX easily comes our on top. Property taxes are dedicated to the ISD, and not to the general fund, like in LA.

Fort Worth, Raleigh, Charlotte…why large cities? There are such better options in both states.

I live NW of fort Worth and if I had the choice I'd move to Charlotte or Raleigh.

Fayettenam is not a fair representation of most of the rest of NC.

Not focused on Fayettenam. We are considering moving back their next year (when our current renter ends their lease).

It is all about taxes for me.

My daughter attends TCU and she loves Ft Worth. Dallas has all the big city stuff and is easily accessible without the big city problems. Strong police presence in Ft Worth, and it’s super clean. Can’t speak to living in NC, but I’ve always enjoyed my visits there.

The only place I would live in NC other than WNC is Winston-Salem. It’s like what Baton Rouge was pre Katrina and how it was when we grew up there before the crime and corporatization took over.

I’m in Bryson City and have been for almost a decade. I’ve never once considered moving my family or regretted living here.
