Hidden Food Gems at Disney

Pray for me. I am taking the family (no pics) to Disney next week. We will be in the Orlando area for 7 days, and I don’t plan on venturing off campus. So, between the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, what are your culinary must try’s?

You’re going in a week and you have no reservations? I will definitely pray for you. If they still have limited seating due to covid, you’ll be stuck eating quick service the entire trip.
I like Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. It’s not a culinary gem, but I love the Thanksgiving dinner they offer. Everything is always good.

Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom is good. Probably any restaurant in Epcot would be good. I haven’t had a bad meal in Epcot yet. We haven’t found a great place in Hollywood yet.
The Hoop Dee Do Review is a fun time for dinner. It’s a show with a fried chicken Country style dinner at the campground (Fort Wilderness?)
Raglan Road in Disney Springs is a fun time as well.

It’s been about 4 years, but the Buffalo wings @ the bowling alley at Disney springs were one of the best I’ve ever had.

You need to check for reservations to anything. You can cancel a day ahead for free if you find you don’t want to go or whatever. If you don’t cancel it usually costs $10 a head or something.
Satu’li canteen in animal kingdom is a great quick service spot.

Skipper canteen in magic kingdom is solid. We also enjoyed the sci fi dine in, in Hollywood studios.

Biergarten at Epcot prob had reservations available still. I like it. German food with big beers and entertainment.
Epcot usually has some festive with kiosks everywhere for food.
Cosmic rays or Pecos bills for quick Service in MK.
HWS Star Wars area has good quick service food.
If you happen to find any reservations to these book it:
50s Diner
Skipper Canteen
Enzo’s
Also, Avocado Margherita or Alibrije at La Cava del Tequila

I forgot we did try an Italian place in Hollywood, Momma Melrose. We enjoyed it very much.

Yak and Yeti,
Liberty Tree Tavern
Lobster Roll at the New England rest in Magic Kingdom
The small sandwich shop just to the right of the Brown Derby in Hollywood. Very small and hidden. HUGE turkey sandwiches and great cookies.
Le Cellier in the Canada exhibit. Steakhouse with great wine selection.
French restaurants are all good.

We always made reservations everywhere months in advance. It’s been awhile though.

This, the food was really good. The fried wonton dessert was extremely good. We had got 1 to split and ended up getting a 2nd.
Epcot, fish and chips for a quick meal in the UK area. The pastry shop in France. Pizza in Italy was pretty good.
It's been a few years since we been and those just stick out from what I remember. Also thought the food in Disney Springs was better then in the parks for the most part.
You can try and get reservations 24 - 30 hours before you want to go hoping someone cancels before the charge window. Try and get some now if possible.

We do have reservations for 2 table service restaurants. We will be hitting up Be our Guest in magic kingdom for dinner one night and the Tusker House Character Breakfast in Animal kingdom. I was really looking for the quick service meals and snack items that are your favorites!
I saw pics of Buffalo chicken tots from magic kingdom that I am excited to try and the blue milk from galaxy’s edge is something else that I have been told is a must try.
I’m really not super excited about the dole whip, but apparently you are an idiot if you don’t get that?? Any comments about that one?

I went back in May and had the Be Our Guest dinner and it was absolutely disgusting. Steaks were way far off from what we ordered. Also, it took about 1.5 hours to get our food... So if you have a later reservation, it may be one of the last things to do.
Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs was some of the best Mexican I have ever had.
Honestly, all the quick serve I got in Disney was just edible and nothing more. All the restaurants, except Be Our Guest, were exceptional.

Yeah, quick service meals are not great but they get the job done. I do like the big hot dogs at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom as well as the lobster roll and fish and chips from Columbia House.
A few months ago, because of covid, many quick service places were closed but they moved some favorite food items to other locations. The hotdogs, lobster roll, and fish and chips were at the quick service spot in Tomorrowland since their original spots were closed.
Get a dole whip ice cream at Magic Kingdom.
Hollywood also has the hot dogs but the place was closed for covid.
Animal Kingdom has Flame Tree BBQ, a bbq quick service that’s good.
If Epcot has a festival going on, there’s kiosks in each country with appetizers and desserts. That’s my favorite thing to do. There is a bakery in Norway, the Kringla Bakery, that has great deserts.

I like Earl of Sandwich for quick serve. The place is always packed but their queue is efficient.
If the kids are old enough, leave them at the resort & take the Misses to Wine Bar George or Jaléo for dinner.

Alcohol is not openly served in the park so, you'll need a reservation to acquire a nip of liquid patience. All table service restaurants serve beer & wine but, you have to consume it before you leave.
Many good places to dine already suggested here but, my goto quick-serve is a Prince Eric's Village Market back by Under The Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid that sells smoked turkey legs ($12) & frozen cokes ($5).

Stop off at the Dawa Bar & have a Harambe Cooler (not on the menu but Bob will still make it for you). Next door is Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. A little quick-serve window with a really good Shrimp Curry served on aromatic jasmine rice. I can't get enough of it.

Food & Wine Festival is in full swing so eat (and drink) your way around the world.

The Hollywood Brown Derby is about the best you can do in the park but, its very popular. We usually hang around Baseline Tavern. They have a huge pretzel that the kids can fight over and great west coast beer & wine.

I ate at the German restaurant in Epcot and it was pretty decent. I tricked my 8 year old into trying sauerkraut and she cried. Felt like a jerk but she was brave enough to try it so I was proud

I was iffy about getting one. It was worth it especially on a hot day. I would get one again. They had a long line and I did the mobile order and it was much faster.
At pongu pongu - avatar land. They have the pongu lumpia, a pineapple cream cheese spring roll. Idk if it the same since it was a few years ago but use to be on the secret menu on the app. Might of just been after a certain time or something, can't remember. Heard alot of good things about that just didn't have the chance to get one. Sleepy Hallow refreshments had a fried churro ice cream sandwich. Like others have said have to check the kiosk in Epcot.

Pepperoni pizza @ Via Napoli (Epcot)

I haven’t seen it mentioned here yet but, we liked Regal Eagle for lunch in Epcot. We were there in February 2020 before Covid and it hadn’t been open very long. I thought the BBQ was pretty good considering it came from Disney and I was able to drink a cold beer.
