Auburn played a really good Penn St team really nice 2 weeks ago…I think our fans are putting too much stock in each teams performance last week..

Penn State is “really good” because they beat Auburn…like Georgia State almost did.

Who is underestimating Auburn? I think most of the fans accept even a scenario in which we don't win anymore conference games.

Auburn?
KY?
Florida?
Ole Miss?
Alabama?
Arkansas?
Texas A&M?

I don't think there's much underestimating going on around here.

I have alot of respect for Auburn.

Nix and/or Finley will fight, and Tank is an animal. They are not great up front or at WR but they are SEC caliber players.

Their defense is always tough.

With that said, they are very beatable...especially in a packed Tiger Stadium at night. It's ok to be excited and cautiously optimistic without under-estimating them.

I think AU will win and TJ will have the best game of his life.

Is that underestimating them?

LSU fans definitely are! They trash Auburn and Finley.
You think this LSU team beats Penn State?
You think this LSU Oline is better than Auburn’s?
You think this LSU defense is better than Auburns?
You think this LSU running game is better than Auburn’s?
You think this coaching staff is better than Auburn’s?

LSU fans better show their #sses up to the game, that’s one of the few advantages besides wide receivers that LSU has over Auburn.

I always love these odd threads, as if the fan base under/over estimating an opponent on a message board matters at all between the lines.

Auburn beat LSU 48-11 last year. Nobody should be underestimating them. LSU should be fired up to play them and get revenge. I hope they will.

LSU should never underestimate Auburn, and shouldn't have underestimated UCLA...

a really good Penn St team

*I know this post is in reference to Auburn, but breaking down their opponent from their singular loss

Excluding Auburn, Penn St has beat;

1-2 Wisconsin (Lone win over 3-1 Eastern Michigan)
1-3 Ball St (Lone win over 1-3 FCS Western Illinois)
3-1 FCS Villanova (whose 3 wins are over FCS Schools with a combines record of 2-9)

Outside of Penn St, Auburn's Opponents have a combined Record of 4-7 (3 of the wins against FCS school and the 4th win Ga St beat Charlotte)

Bonus: Just to go a little further
Eastern Michigan's (Being the only other school on this post with a +.500 Record) three wins are against;

1-3 FCS St. Francis (PA)
0-4 UMass
1-3 Texas St

I suspect Auburn was looking to this game at LSU and that led to the questionable performance against Georgia State.

Tank probably goes for 200+ on the ground as our LBs fail to fill gaps or run themselves out of plays. Don’t worry though, they’ll make the tackle 12 yards down the field so they can fill the stat sheet.
