MSY: Top Airport in America

I'm guessing the 2019 ranking was mostly based on the old terminal (the new terminal opened in November 2019) and the 2020 ranking was based on when they were still working out a lot of kinks in the new terminal, most of which have been fixed by now.
Remember when some posters said no one would care about eating or shopping at MSY?
And before anyone says anything stupid... although the property is located in Kenner, it is owned and run by the
New Orleans Aviation Board, which is a governmental unit of the... City of New Orleans.
Where y'at, haters?

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is ranked as the number one large airport in North America for customer satisfaction based on J.D. Power’s 2021 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, which was released on Sept. 22. MSY’s number one ranking represents significant improvement from number 11 in 2020 and number 23 in 2019.

In the large airport category of 10 to 32.9 million passengers per year, MSY achieved a score of 844 based on a 1,000-point scale.

In addition to the overall ranking, MSY also captured number one across the study factor of food & beverage and retail services. This demonstrates a positive customer response to MSY’s food, beverage and retail program, which features several local brands showcasing the spirit of Greater New Orleans region.

The airport is great. The city itself is a dying shithole.

I’ve flown out of it twice. I absolutely love it.

Now we just have to wait 10 years for the interstate access to be built.

It's the best airport that I've been to.

This just in: New Orleans has good food and tourists on their way out give good marks for the airport where you can slam beignets in the terminal

Shout out to Mitch Landrieu's cousins and relatives for laying that foundation for that airport with "competitive bids". They were both paid handsomely and the end product got us #1.

Last time I was there the airport employees were nicer than the chic-fil-a employees.

Rated number one and they haven’t built the interstate entrance yet. How is that possible? Didn’t proponents say it was vital?
I’m glad to hear it’s going great. Good for NO.

Just wait until next year when the VP's running the place get better jobs elsewhere. Probably won't end the year ranked.

We have crime, ineffective government, and terrible schools, but hey, if you want to leave you will be flying out of a class A establishment
ETA: I'll give credit where credit is due, it is a fantastic airport with great food and drink options. The only issue we had was Google maps not knowing hot to get there and getting our ride lost, but I'm sure that's been fixed.

Traffic counts are still down post-COVID. With post-COVID traffic counts... the current Loyola exit and expanded ground level street access from I-10 through Veterans onto airport property has enough capacity.
Not sure how it's going to look once traffic counts (hopefully) get back to normal. There were some rough traffic jams in early 2000.
