got in a rabbit hole on the DAilyMail...

the gist....Green policies and covid lockdowns cause the price of fuel to skyrocket...so two fertilizer plants close because it was no longer profitable to make fertilizer and sell the byproduct clean CO2 and now the UK may run out of food....

Daily Mail UK is tabloid/gossip paper. I'm amazed at how many people in the US get their news from there.

Teach your kids as many useful skills as possible. Even if the crap doesn’t hit the fan in the next decade, they will still be better prepared than most of the current 20 year olds.

Amazes me how many people can’t sew on a button or have no knowledge of food prep safety.

I love when people decry some news sites as sketchy/unprofessional and then tout sources such as NYT, WaPo, CNN, etc as trustworthy. The Babylon Bee is literally (in the truest sense of that word) a more honest and forthright dispenser of facts than any of those.

CO2 is a byproduct of ammonia production. It is also a major byproduct (with little market) from grain ethanol production. It was a 3rd profit center but so many new plants in the last 15 years, there is more than worth capturing

Clarkson’s Farm is going to single-handedly (with Caleb) save the kingdom. God help them all.
