This is their mission. I wish I had some culture.

Mission
The mission of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy is to create opportunities and systems that enable true economic activity and growth for cultural economy stakeholders and the public. The Office of Cultural Economy leverages the innovative and entrepreneurial nature of cultural economy development to achieve deeper outcomes across City projects and priorities.

It reads like they googled popular buzzwords on linkedin and copy and pasted until it was somewhat legible.

Does this surprise you? Seriously, if you dig deep enough I am sure you can find people getting paid more to do less.

Consequences are had by elections.

Living here at the moment is like doing time. We have virtually zero pros and 100 cons regarding every day life. I am currently working on chiseling my way out of Latoya’s dystopia.

I can understand the position, as New Orleans is a city heavily influenced by it's cultural history, but for 98k/year?

I wonder how much effort and money are going towards keeping alive the French, Italian, Vietnamese, and other influences to N.O. "culture"
or is the city only focusing on the advancement of one piece of the pie?

They should divy that money up between bartenders and tour guides

You’re being ignorant. There’s a new tapas place opening up in Mid City and real estate prices have never been higher.
