So many on this board have been rooting against Lamar Jackson since Day 1. He’d have to win three Super Bowls before they’d recognize he’s a pretty good QB.

Jim Mora tried to make Michael Vick into Joe Montana in Atlanta. I remember him making a huge deal out of how they were going to run the West Coast Offense with him in it.

When in fact, he should have been running the West Virginia-Pat white read option the whole time.

Vick in today's college-styled NFL offenses like what Arizona or Baltimore run would be almost unstoppable. He had a much more natural and cleaner throwing motion than Jackson and had a cannon.

Vick was ahead of his time and I’m sure inspired many of the current gen QBs. He’s be fun to watch in more modern offenses

Vick is overrated as frick. He had one or two decent passing years.

56% career completion record. He was a faster Bo Nix

What’s funny is I bet they hated Vick until Lamar came along. They can’t handle the fact that Lamar actually wins games with his legs alone.

The other problem with Vick is that he didn’t study the playbook in his ATL days. He went out there to play backyard football.

He straight up did not care.

I’m a Vick super fan … Lamar better in every phase … Vick has said this… Lamar W/L record is pretty impressive and he has a MVP under his belt..plus a playoff win …

Vick was by his own admission lazy and it showed with his play with the Falcons. Plus he got dinged up a lot.

That was when you could still hit the QB. Even on rushes outside the pocket QBs don’t get hit in today’s NFL. Vick would have been healthy a lot more. He would have been a game changing player in today’s NFL.

Vick. But to really build around, Lamar

He's a much more mature player on the field and off

The counter to that is that modern defenses are much more adept at handling mobile QBs.

That's a good point. And with him running I Form play action most of his career the defense didn't have a spy and played a lot of man coverage so when he did take off the defense didn't have a chance. I'm not saying Lamar Jackson doesn't have this but the thing with Vick wasn't just his insane speed it was his natural running ability. Vick wasn't huge but he was strong and had a low center of gravity, he was able to get out of tackles, put a hand on the ground and stay up, throw stiff arms, etc like a RB. Any time he kept the ball in a modern offense he'd no longer just be a mobile QB, he'd be a 6'0 210lb RB with 4.3 speed

Add that to a huge arm in an offense that's not turning his back to the defense on under center play action passes, easier reads, an easier route tree to throw to, etc. One thing Lamar Jackson can't do is drop deep and sling a ball 75 yards on a 9 route, Vick could do that with just a flick. Like somebody else said it would have been video game stats

Lamar Jackson.

People talk about how bad of a passer Lamar Jackson is, but Mike Vick entered the league as a terrible passer. He never actually had a season with 60% completion percentage, or higher, until he was damn near 30 years old.

Vick was in the league for like 13 years and never improved as a passer. Lamar is in his 4 season and has already improved despite having a bunch of young skill position players around him.

People will remember the 10 highlight reel plays Vick made each season but ignore the hundreds of wtf to mediocre plays he had the rest of the year. This really isn’t a debate.

Like Lamars two really bad picks, one of which was into triple coverage?

He did, finally, but not until he was paired with Andy Reid and had Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson at WR, Shady McCoy at RB.

that’s simply not a guy who ever existed

exactly. everyone picking vick is making up a completely different player than what actually existed.

lamar won the MVP ffs. he already has 2 years rushing better than vick's best. basically all of his years have a better QBR than vick's best. it's just silly.

Vick was actually kind of accurate.

Lamar sucks at throwing.
