What makes a good coach /fit?

Honest question here. I'm not far or against firing early in the season. That's another conversation.
What is everyone looking for in a coaching hire? What are some prerequisites for a hire? I'm genuinely curious. Does 1 name get thrown around, and everyone just hops on that bandwagon? Take our situation out of it, pretend we have a winning coach that's retiring at the end of the season.
Also keep in mind we're not getting a top coach that's successful as they're staying where they are. I don't pay enough attention to other programs to even know who is sucessful.

High energy. Proven winner . High intellect to handle and persevere thru the inevitable chaos a new regime always creates. We need complete change of culture . Geography isn’t important in my mind

Can evaluate coaches and players. Good recruiter, good developer. Can run one side of the ball and has a clear outline of how they want the other side of the ball ran.

Not sure if this is a joke or not, but this is kind of what I'm talking about too. We're looking for 1 small trait of a coach.

See Coach Johnson baseball coach for most things I like, in preparation, attention to detail, pulse on all stakeholders (fans, team, admin, media), demonstrated professionalism, and detailed approach to filling staff and roster and priority that is 2nd to none.
No bed pics (so far) too!

1. Culture
2. someone who can make great hires- if we’re going to be successful we’ll have staff coming in and out
3.someone who can handle success- we’ve had 3 different coaches win NC’s here in the last 20 years
4. Someone who can connect with players and recruits
5. Consistency

I'm sure this is what Robert Kraft in mind when he hired that that excitable Bill Belichik and his 36-44 record with Cleveland.

Hiring head coaches is such a crapshoot.
Just be thankful that LSU has proven in the modern era that there are multiple coaches out there that can probably win a lot of games at LSU.
I learned long ago that fan excitement/disappointment over a hire does not in any way dictate or predict a coaches ultimate success or failure. I’ve seen grand slam fan-favorite hires implode (Muschamp, Herman, Frost, Strong, Harbaugh) and I’ve seen relatively meh hires win championships and build consistent programs (Dabo, Orgeron, Miles, Carroll).
The Saban/Bama and Urban/OhioSt scenarios are rare, very rare... The slam dunk great hires that actually perform up to the level that was expected when they were hired.

From my perspective,
At least the following
Good knowledge of the recruiting landscape
Ability to close the deal with kids and parents
Good knowledge of the competition
Solid organizational skills
A mastery of at least offense or defense
Great leadership skills
Solid Game day coaching
Steady emotional guidance
Excellent teaching ability
Player evaluation
The guy that fits most of the criteria I like is Jimbo Fisher

I don't feel like High Energy is a prerequisite to being a good coach. Saban, Urban, and Belichick barely freaking smile and they dominate. I think good recruiter, discipline, establishing and maintaining a system, or as Saban and Belichick call it, the "process". I want a serious person, who has higher expectations for themselves than what we have for him. Honeslty, I would be fine with a dickhead who doesn't talk to media or ra ra every time you talk to him.
That is why I am high on Cristobal.

Fleck is my first choice but I’d be happy with MC

So seems like everyone is on the same page on characteristics of a good coach. Knows football. Strong in at least 1 side of the ball, great with athletes, strong leader (almost the tough guy).
NOW, who tf matches that? On a real level, does anyone know who that would be? One mention for Jimbo, but from what we heard, he was a piece of shite at FSU. At least that was the consensus once he passed on LSU. You almost have to just rab and hope they work out at this point.

“Fit” is a term used to make fans accept a lesser hire which is why it’s been the buzz term around here since O was given the job. Great coaches have their programs and teams fit what they want to do.
