Do you know how a candle works without looking up the answer?

Specifically how it works. I will admit that I didn’t know the exact details

I thought the wax just kept the wick from burning to disintegration. I never really thought more about it.

The heat from the flame volatilizes the hydrocarbon of the candle, this aerosoled hydrocarbon then mixes with oxygen and the heat from the flame and combustion occurs.

Dude, my Sis in Law had three of these in her house and I borrowed them after Ida power outage....
These things are GREAT for providing a good little bit of light when your power is out and will last all night. They give enough light that you can even read a book by it when power, TV, internet is out....
