Probably unrelated cuz the ladies had texted someone about a "creeper" that forced them to move camp and stated if they disappear, they "were murdered". They were both sexually assaulted & shot.

Hello, the boyfriend is the creeper. The girl found out and he had to kill her also.

Yes, but that still isn’t the main point. The main point is that if they have nothing to do with each other, that means that two separate murder/accident events happened around the same time to two groups of people involved in the same pastime. Kind of impossible odds. A random killer decided to off a lesbian couple while in the same woods a girl goes missing and her fiancé disappears and lawyers up in complete silence?

Would be almost impossible odds for those two huge events to unfold likely days apart in that very small town.

You can't assume that the boyfriend killed her.

You also have to consider the possibility that he was trading her body for drugs and cash, and someone played keepsies

I’m not sure there is a third possibility

I said kind of impossible. This isnt a Baltimore gang shooting, this is a random small town not known for this type of thing to have two major events involving probably 3 dead women and you think the odds of that not being related are probable?

Then her dad goes to prison for torturing the innocent boyfriend.

There is an almost zero percent chance the boyfriend is innocent?

Has there ever been one of these situations where the boyfriend/husband hasn’t done it?

If he didn’t do something bad you’d think he’d talk to the parents at least.

Maybe there is a single maniac out there on the loose. Killed the two girls and then managed to abduct the third. Boyfriend may have been unable to prevent it or incapacitated? Or perhaps GP was alone when she encountered the maniac and BL drove back to FL bc he thought she’d bolted?

Literally every lawyer would disagree with you.

No good lawyer is going to recommend he say absolutely nothing if he has a story or evidence to back up his innocence. Or even anything at all to try and suggest he is not guilty. Part of proving someone not guilty is providing evidence of other possibilities. None of that has happened, nothing.

His lawyers are doing a horrible job of showing his innocence if he is not guilty.

Ah yes I forgot the burden of proof is on the accused. Or in this case, the yet to be formally accused.

Boyfriend was the creep, the girlfriend knew he was stalking them thus starting her argument with him that led to her hitting him. If he was a creep serial killer then he could easily play it off to cops. He’s probably convinced her that she’s crazy and got her on all kinds of meds.

This is not likely at all but It sounds netflix like so I’ll go with it.

Moab is a bit of a one horse town but thousands of people go through there every day in the summer. It's a major tourism spot because it is right between Arches NP and Canyonlands NP plus a bunch of other offroad and rafting adventures. Lots of people camp there. Lots of retirees RV there. Lots of hippie drifters hang around looking for seasonal work.

The lesbians were last seen Aug 13 in Moab.
The girl was last heard from Aug 25 in Grand Teton.
Grand Teton is over 500 miles away from Moab.

It's a bit of a coincidence but nothing that sets off major alarm bells.

You would get laughed out of law school with this kind of nonsense.

Why would you have him say anything at all when the Cops have not indicated they want to charge him with anything related to his girlfriend's disappearance?

Loose lips sink ships.

That's not how this works. The burden of proof is on the state, not the defendant.

The defense attorney's job is to poke holes in the state's case against his client and do everything they can to convince a jury that the state has not met its burden of proof.

Has it been discussed how she sent her family a text saying “No cell service in Yosemite” but they were nowhere near Yosemite? I heard her step dad say this in an interview today but haven’t heard anything about it since.

Was it some kind of code?

The big one I remember was the Runaway Bride case from Georgia. LINK
