Les was fired because he flat out refused to adapt his offensive approach to the extent necessary to allow LSU to compete for national championships...not because he "wasn't "winning. He just wasn't winning at a high enough level.

While things are frustrating now, within three years of Les's firing Orgeron DID accomplish the objective which was the basis for firing Miles. He elevated the offense to the degree necessary to win a national championship. LSU simply wasn't going to get there without moving on from Les. So in that respect, making the coaching change was a smart move.

Thus, the question now is not whether or not it was wise to move on from Les? Cleary it was. It's whether or not the program should move on from O?

The UCLA game presented a lot of ominous signs similar to the Wisconsin game in 2016. Namely, both HCs were coming off a disappointing seasons (remember, Les was carried off the field in his "final game at LSU" at the end of 2015) with a plethora of offseason promises to correct the issues that cause the prior disappointments...only to lose a game due to the EXACT same issues that plagued them the year before.

O is going to get more than one more loss to "right the ship" unlike Miles in 2016. But he has used up all of his 2019 goodwill. He's very much coaching for his job now more than ever

I actually do agree with the a lot of the points you made

People like you are why we get stuck with mediocre coaches. We ave the talent, resources, and passion to win big. Accepting mediocre coaching like you want to do with Les will never allow us to win more than 10 games and for the most part win 8-9 a year.

What a pipe dream.. 5-5 and looking like more of the same this year.

You keep thinking you are Alabama despite not having anywhere near the alumni support or booster support. I can remember after the Cotton Bowl in 2003 people were in suicide mode over Saban and people were saying that he gets so much credit for doing nothing all that great.

Not saying O or Les was an improvement, but Les was vastly superior to O as a head coach. He had stable staffs that understood his philosophy on both sides of the ball . However, I do take issue about the QB situation. When Mett was around in 2012 -2013 he put up really good numbers and has 2 1000 yard receivers. He whiffed with Gunner Kiel despite Kiel being a top rated QB out of high school and Harris who was also highly rated....started Harris until it was apparent that Harris was bad and not even the ACC competition could make him look good.

Not saying Les was some sort of offensive mastermind, but he would have more than competent defenses and his running backs could run and his O lines blew teams off the ball even with 7 or 8 in the box

There is a 0% chance we win a Nc between 2016 and 2021 with Les.it wasn’t going to happen.

We won one with O.

That’s an improvement no matter what our record is last year and this year.

We can all agree to dislike O, but Les wasn’t the answer either.
