Best for all if Ed survives...

Don't want to be on the coaching carousel. We did that in the late 80's and the 90's. Hit the jackpot with Saban, but that's rare. Tennessee has been on the merry go round for 12 years. Let's hope we can turn this around.

Are 5-6 win seasons acceptable to you then?

I mean We’ve landed on Les Miles and Ed Orgeron on the carousel and won 2 NCs.
So maybe LSU has something Tennessee does not.

The last three coaches, each dumber than the last, have won titles. I think we'll be ok.

I mean...would Saban have ever happened if we weren’t firing underachievers in the 80’s and 90’s? Would it have been “best for all” if Dinardo pulled through for the sake of the continuity of mediocrity? Your logic makes no sense

You were one of those 55-year-old women on Facebook begging LSU to hire the interim in 2016, weren’t you?

To be fair, we had Miles for over a decade. He ended a carousel. The question is are we closing out coach 1 of a new carousel.

Who cares at this point? The athletic department cant keep their mouth shut about anything, they have to run and tell the media.
Woodward needs to find out whoever is leaking this stuff. LSU looks like a bunch of idiots.

Geaux LSU and Coach O! Get it right.
But, if trend continues, cut bait, thank him for 2019, and go get LSU a great coach.
And if this has to happen (and I truly hope it does not), I pray that LSU politics is not the barrier again to landing a great one.

Only people that is best for are O and his ex-wife.

I don’t want go to die, I just don’t want him as the HC any longer.

Les Miles and Ed fricking Orgeron won a national championship at LSU. That has to be more appealing than Tennessee or LSU in the 80’s

They’ve done a pretty damn good job of it during the past 2 coaching searches Woodward has conducted. It’s almost like Woodward is letting the leaking happen to turn the tide of public opinion against Coach O so the Facebook Karen’s don’t freak out when O is fired with cause in 3 months

What the hell are you talking about? We've only had 3 coaches in almost 20 years.

Easy to forget the 6 straight losing seasons from 1989 thru 1994.

I think that’s his point. We have been lucky for the past 20 years to be relatively stable at head coach (compared to other programs, despite the fact that it sometimes feels like we’ve been in turmoil for a long time) and still have success. Once you get on that carousel, there’s no telling how long it’ll be before you actually find “the guy” that gets you back. Sometimes you get lucky and find that guy immediately. Sometimes it takes a decade or more, and you take a huge recruiting hit in the process.
I don’t think it’s an unreasonable concern. And I don’t think it’s controversial to say that the best thing for the program would be for O to get his shite together, figure it out, and lead us back to success without having to go down that path of a complete rebuild.
Now, that may not be likely. But it would be best IMO. The question becomes at what point does the risk of keeping him outweigh the risk of trying to replace him? I think a lot of that depends on who is available, and I would be surprised if Woody weren’t at least putting out feelers to get an idea of his options at this point. I would rather make a change after a 9-3 season when Woodward knows he can get the guy he wants than make a change after a 7-5 season when Woodward doesn’t have a great candidate lined up.
At some point we have to trust Woodward and let the season play out.
