Same here I rather the Freddy's on the south side of 10 if I am in the mood for a thin patty fast food burger
I like Freddies also. Like the thin patties and the thin cut fries.
Not sure where you are but if you are in the Katy area try Hat Creek on Mason or 1463. Not a thin patty but its my favorite fast food burger right now.

but the fries never inspire much confidence - almost always lukewarm.
This. Was wondering if they were always that cold

Over priced? It’s cheap as hell
This. I was surprised how cheap it was with everything I ordered

Honest question: Who is "crazy hyping" In N Out burger? And why would you believe that hype anyway?
Are you fricking kidding me? Every family member in Cali and everyone else pretty much every person who told me to go.

Those fries need a serious makeover.
But a double double animal style hits the spot.

Californians....they have been over hyping it since they opened.

Part of the appeal of in n out is the value proposition. You’re paying McDonald’s prices for a far superior burger.
Compared to any burger that costs the same, it’s by far the best.

So they appeal is that it’s better the McDonald’s at the same price? That’s where the hype comes from?
McDonald’s has better fries and in and out has better burgers.
I’d pay the same price for a twins or Judice inn burger and it taste a lot better at the same price.

Yeah, it’s a fast food burger. I won’t even eat a burger from Wendy’s, McDonald’s, or Burger King anymore.

McDonald’s has better fries and in and out has better burgers.
The fries are made and served fresh. They peel a potato, slice it, drop it in oil, and serve them fresh. McDonald’s fries definitely taste better, but they go through far more processing and aren’t fresh.
The in n out burger is the star, and is restaurant quality and in addition to blowing away fast food counterparts, is also better than many places serving food at a much higher price point.

In and out fries do suck no argument there, but man THAT BURGER DOE! So delicious. Good prices and service as well. Always get one when out west.

I like the burger, and as has been mentioned you can order the fries well done.
But no fry will ever approach the original McDonald's fries before they switched from beef tallow. Such a waste when it turns out beef tallow is much better for you than what they currently use to fry them in.

Based on your description of the fries, I know you didn't get Animal Style. First mistake

Order the fries "Done." It's on their secret menu
If you have to order a secret, off-the-menu way to make your fries edible, your product sucks.

quote:nah parish has excellent marketing which has kept them on top. I would compare it more like Curbside. Curbside was a great burger from a food truck.....but now it is just a decent burger joint.
in and out is the parish brewing of burger joints. decent product, over hyped and over priced.

Stayed at the Linq in Vegas. There is one in "The Alley". Hit the spot at 1:00am. Didn't bother with the fries.

Shake shack has a better burger and infinitely better fries than INO. Their chicken sandwich may be the best around, just for bonus points.
