This is all very familiar to me as far as all the work being done with cleanup, generator care, etc etc. being done last year.
With that said, we didn’t have an infant. But my wife understood the situation and even with a bad back that’s nothing but chronic pain, she was still outside picking up trash, taking apart patio covers, hauling trees and blown down fences…then on top of that put together the financials to a point where the notebook is almost a foot thick.
She’s been a trooper through this entire thing. Only downside is that she doesn’t want to live in Louisiana anymore. Which makes it hard because I know she isn’t happy here, but we will see if that road leads anywhere. Maybe, maybe not.
A year later we’re still waiting on small things with our home to be completed and they’re just thorns in our sides that constantly pick at us every day. Wish I could tell you that it’ll be fine soon and everything will be back to normal like it was before the storm, but it won’t be. The home around you, the town around you, the overall attitude towards your home….it’ll be a while. It won’t be over with a snap of your finger tomorrow or when your lights are back on.

I never had those issues with my wife. She always pulled her weight and appreciated what I did. Sorry it's not working out for you. I just hate these threads that turn into women bashing. It's okay to criticize a woman; it's not reality to criticize all women.
I didn’t marry the Teacher-type.
Mrs Füt (no pics) doesn’t play games, thank god.
Good luck moving forward.

Divorce now as it will not get any better.
If she does not appreciate you let her take care of herself.
Take care of your child financially and be there for your child.
Drop the excessive baggage which is her.

Pretty sure in the days before electricity and what not that women raised the young while the men protected and hunted. Some people are just weak in the face of adversity. Stay strong brother.... the power will be back soon.

Does her dad and or mom chime in with things?
My ex in laws used to do that and it would drive me nuts.

What's funny is, if my wife finds me reading this, she will think this is how I feel and I'll get in trouble. I'm out, best of luck!

Louisiana women brah… good luck.
I’m very lucky to have a wife who is low maintenance and can think on her feet.
In your case, I would have asked her to swap duties long ago - let her manage the generator for awhile. That gas can works the same for a woman or man.

I guess I’m lucky. My wife appreciates my hard work and she understands that I do the best I can for my family

Seems to me more like a marraige issue than a hurricane one.
My wife is awesome, but she's not built for the post hurricane world and I knew that.
The morning Michael was going to hit I sent her and the kids away and told her to go on vacation. I knew she couldn't handle the aftermath of what was about to happen and I couldn't be in the frame of mind I needed with her and the kids around.
If possible send her away

Mine too. She’s pretty amazing. She actually took the time the other night to genuinely thank me. She said her and our son are as comfortable as they are during all this (still without power) because of all I have done and do.

Well, if you wouldn’t have posted this, she would never know you were reading it. Duh!!

Man that was brutal to read. I feel for you brother. Just take solace that in that this like all things will come to pass and will soon just be a memory.

My wife, who is from New Orleans and the Mississippi Coast knowd all about storm cleanup, and we've had tornadoes here to clean up afterwards, yet I still get zero points in any clean up effort.
Once I step out of the house, for all she knows I'm on vacation.
And when I fix stuff inside the house it's mainly because I am too cheap to hire someone to do it.
