My family in Luling went to my brother's house in Belle Chase. I have a friend that is in the EOC building monitoring the area. Trying to get an update from him.

My wife is on the phone with our son that lives between Laplace and Norco. Montz is the little town. They have been getting hammered for the past hour. Says it’s almost unbearable. Dresser against the front doors to keep them from blowing open.

@NWSMobile

Let's give an ENORMOUS ROUND OF APPLAUSE to our fantastic technicians who revived the KMOB Radar. The reflectivity is still not 100%, but the velocity products are flowing.

I'm glad to hear that!

Well, how long has it really been "on land"?

Eight hours. That’s a long time for a storm to be on land this well developed and still at CAT 3.

WWLTV reports Brent House, the hotel built into the main complex, has the roof damage. Hospital is fine.

The sad and pathetic thing is she would get even MORE votes if the election was next week.

The people of New Orleans have a lot of problems, but their biggest problem is IGNORANCE. The vast majority of the people in New Orleans are as ignorant as the day is long.

Lafitte has higher water then it ever had. Parents house half flooded. It never flooded for any storm before Katrina and got a few inches for some storms after. They have about 4 feet in the house now. They went into the 2nd story of the house next to them with family.
