Best Donut Shop

prompted by the Whole foods thread, What are your favorite donut places.

Being from Shreveport I think the best that I have had are Southern Maid Donuts.

Donut King in Mandeville is pretty good. For cakes,I like Mandeville bake shop.

Well considering Mary Lee is the only place in BR to get them, I guess thats my vote.

Port Allen Bakery on Hwy 1...taste just like the old Tony's on Plank Road used to (THEY were the best ever!)

Definitely Meche's in Lafayette and Shipley's in Houston. There used to be a Shipley's in Lafayette when I was little and my dad would take us there every Saturday. Mmmmmm. I always go to the Shipley's counter when I fly through the Houston airport. Alas, I can get neither now that I live in Chicago. This is making me hungry! :)
