I don’t even know what options are out there beyond Waffle House, IHOP, and cracker barrell. What are some good spots?

crawford's - saltiest grits I have ever put in my mouth. Horrible, inedible. Took 20 glasses of water to get the salt out of my mouth. Never again. You have been warned.

I went to Ruby Slipper last week for the firs time and it was excellent. However, I would call it more brunch than a breakfast place. If you have a free morning and can go downtown.

Cafe Mimi.

Although not Baton Rouge, I enjoy Carlico in Gonzales. It's just your normal breakfast place, nothing stands out but always solid.

Zeeland is where I head when I decide that I'm gonna have a me morning and roll into work late. Big breakfast with a whole lot of coffee, stop back by the house to take a nice dump in peace and comfort with the house all to myself, then roll into the office about 10 am well fed and ready to crank out 8 or 9 hours straight.

Was told by an employee last week that they stopped serving breakfast. Guess it happened last year with Covid?
