I give it to my cows. Works well.

They actually have long term data on ivermectin. I’m not trying to cause a fight but the hate ivermectin gets is pretty funny. Literally the worst case scenario with Ivermectin is that it does nothing but at least now you don’t have worms.
I don't hate Iver I hope it works. I just find the dichotomy that the rabid proponents of it put themselves in to be sort of hilarious.

The IVR protocol has been out for a while. People want to fight about vaccination but at the end of the day people do a terrible job taking care of themselves.
If you are unvaccinated and didn’t try to protect yourself from Covid with life changes and potentially this protocol and had to be hospitalized then shame on you.
If you just think vaccination is the only thing we need to do to get out of Covid then also shame on you.

I sat across the table from a guy who was bragging about not getting vaccinated because he takes ivermectin. I know several farmers with this attitude.
At that meeting, he and two others contracted covid. He got extremely sick from it, though not hospitalized.
I look forward to hearing his opinions next time I see him. He's so hard headed I'm sure he won't admit he was wrong.

Yes. I won’t answer which one. But yes

Friend of mine and her husband take the paste from Tractor Supply. She's a nurse who worked covid in a nursing home ... this was prior to knowing about ivermectin but she never contracted covid there and still hasn't doing home health.
Anyway, her husband is a little heavy ... he works in a trailer office box type situation with two other guys. One coughed from Monday through Friday and ended up getting tested on Friday .. positive. The other guy got tested .. positive as well but no symptoms at that point.
Husband never ever tested positive. They'd been doing it only for maybe 2 or 3 weeks .. they were taking 1 dose, 2 weeks apart. When he found out the guy was positive, he took a dose that day and 48 hours later. Never tested positive.
Make of it what you will.
A friend of mine's husband and 2 kids all got it in sequence. They were in quarantine for almost a month. She never got it, and didn't take Ivermectin.

Yes. Ignore the TSC comments. Its FDA approved in a pill form unlike their shot. Been around since 1976. 4+ billion doses given with 30 clinical trials.
Wife and I got covid 3 weeks ago. Took ivermectin, prescribed by a real MD in appropriate dosage, which is .2mg/kg of the patient, for 5 days. Also took antibiotic and steroid with D3+K2, C and liquid zinc. We beat covid in short order.
Do your research and decide whats best for you.

Makes total sense.
Calling it "dog medicine" is ignorant. It's listed as an essential medicine by the WHO, FDA approved, and a commonly prescribed drug (for humans) in this country and all over the world. Do these designations matter or not? It's hard to keep up.
Idk if it's a better course of action than the vaccine or not, but shouldn't we let the doctors figure that out instead of shunning everyone of them that brings it up?

quote:Correct. Even if ivermectin is somewhat effective in treating illness, the data for ivermectin on its best day doesn’t support it being used as a substitute for vaccination or avoidance of illness in the first place.

From the limited studies that support ivermectin as treatment, its efficacy appears far less than that of the vaccines.

I am currently taking it (once a week for preventitive) and was advised this by a lifelong friend who is a pharmacist who takes it and has had one of his kids take it and recovered from covid in just over 24 hours...several other cases of other people taking it and recovering in a day. Each "click" on the plunger is for 50 punds of body weight. It's a paste and while not the best tasting stuff, it not bad. The amount I take (170 punds) is about the size of a pencil eraser. I've been on it for three months now.

From the FDA:
LINK
quote:
There seems to be a growing interest in a drug called ivermectin to treat humans with COVID-19. Ivermectin is often used in the U.S. to treat or prevent parasites in animals. The FDA has received multiple reports of patients who have required medical support and been hospitalized after self-medicating with ivermectin intended for horses.
Here’s What You Need to Know about Ivermectin
FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans.
Ivermectin tablets are approved at very specific doses for some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. Ivermectin is not an anti-viral (a drug for treating viruses).
Taking large doses of this drug is dangerous and can cause serious harm.
If you have a prescription for ivermectin for an FDA-approved use, get it from a legitimate source and take it exactly as prescribed.
Never use medications intended for animals on yourself. Ivermectin preparations for animals are very different from those approved for humans.
quote:
Ivermectin Products for Animals Are Different from Ivermectin Products for People
For one thing, animal drugs are often highly concentrated because they are used for large animals like horses and cows, which can weigh a lot more than we do—a ton or more. Such high doses can be highly toxic in humans.
Moreover, FDA reviews drugs not just for safety and effectiveness of the active ingredients, but also for the inactive ingredients. Many inactive ingredients found in animal products aren’t evaluated for use in people. Or they are included in much greater quantity than those used in people. In some cases, we don’t know how those inactive ingredients will affect how ivermectin is absorbed in the human body.
Meanwhile, effective ways to limit the spread of COVID-19 continue to be to wear your mask, stay at least 6 feet from others who don’t live with you, wash hands frequently, and avoid crowds.

No offense, but like 90% of cases people beat it without doing much of anything.
When I had it my doctor prescribed me: nothing.
I did take Vit D and Zinc and a shitload of fluids but besides some fever and fatigue, I was fine.
Iver probably does very little in the vast majority of cases.

2nd had from a good friend who is an MD medical school prof/researcher (retired) in Texas.
His niece is a vet pharma supply rep and self medicated with after 1st day of symptoms. She was tested and self medicated immediately. All symptoms gone by end of day 2.
Also this with Delta variant
My sister-in-law caught COVID: fever, sore throat, felt bad. She is 65, very obese, and diabetic (high risk).
She was totally well in five days after treatment with HCQ+doxycycline on symptom day 2.
She now has documented antibodies and T-direct assay.
He and his wife both take HCQ weekly and her personal MD is the head of Baylor School of Medicine.
Ngooba in Nigeria is smarter than Fauci. Just sayin...

Ivermectin oral tablet is available as a brand-name drug and a generic drug. Brand-name: Stromectol.
Apparently used for parasite infection in the intestinal tract.
LINK
Lot of potential side effects. Obviously you'd want to consult with a physician.
NIH Guidelines
There are insufficient data for the COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel (the Panel) to recommend either for or against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19.
Several clinical trials that are evaluating the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19 are currently underway or in development. Please see ClinicalTrials.gov for the latest information.

How did taking a parasite/worm medicine ever start being used to prevent Covid in the first place? To the best of my knowledge it’s not an antiviral so where did the Covid idea come from?

And yet we shut down the world and now many want a vaccine passport to get back to “normal”.
Many Drs swear by it both as preventative and when symptoms start. My wife had it and took it first day she really started feeling bad. She felt much better the next day. I guess that could’ve been a coincidence.
