It’s an omen.

Cubs will win or Chicago might burn again. The city’s fate shall depend on a yellow bat so sayeth the Oracle.

Guys I am huge Cubs fan, but don’t know much about this kid. What position does he play and what year was he drafted?

2017 draft - second round I believe. He played RF his last year at LSU but I don't know if he has since moved to another spot in the outfield. IIRC he played infield before that at LSU? Someone correct me if I'm wrong

1B. CPM blamed him for losing a game 3-4 when he had an error at 1B in the 6th inning

Marruci needs to produce a neon green bat for him.

One of my favorite LSU Baseball plays in history.

Advocate article about Deichmann throwing out Kentucky player at first.

quote:

“Pap goes, ‘You could probably throw someone out from right field today,’ ” Deichmann recalled. “I said, ‘Come on, dude; that doesn’t happen.’ Then (assistant coach Nolan Cain) said, ‘Dude, you better if you get the opportunity.’ ”

Even if he was a little hesitant about the idea, Deichmann and Coomes considered the possibility and put it in their mental back pocket.

“We started talking — if it’s hit hard enough, just go run toward first,” Coomes said.

The A’s drafted him and he’s come up through their organization. The Cubs just traded for him not ling ago. Seems like they’ve had an eye on him for a while knowing they would be starting over.

Reading the scouting report, it seems like his power has been neutered a good bit in favor of shorter contact swings. I guess that’s to reduce his strikeouts?

The guy has unreal power, I’m surprised they or he decided to switch the approach at the plate.
