Kid's an idiot, but I'd rather that than someone sitting at home (parent's house, of course) collecting unemployment checks and begging Uncle Joe to forgive their student loans for an art degree they didn't even finish.

Checking where the leak is when patching a tire at work is wrong?

Only works if the tire is pressurized.
The OT seems to be just as mechanically challenged …

Unless the tire is pressurized, you aren't going to find the leak with soapy spray. Get it now?

Makes me think of the age old question; "how many holes are in drinking straw?"

Not sure I have ever seen it done without it being on a rim before.

When we take our fleet to get tires patched the baws at the place always do this off of the rim. They know it’s either a patch or a replacement so it’s coming off no matter what.

They show whomever is there where the leak is too. Just because it isn’t packed full of air doesn’t mean a light hole won’t show air escaping. They do not deflate the entire tire and always still has air escaping once taken off of the rim.

Why dont yall just plug the hole? Do you patch every flat tire you have in your fleet?

Or maybe he has a newborn at home and he's dog tired and not thinking clearly.

Or maybe it's his first day and the older guys sent him snipe hunting.

Or maybe he's a dumbass.

Could be a lot of things. Who knows. At least he's doing something to get a paycheck.

This pretty much sums up what’s wrong with adults these days: Guy who was taught how to do a job by his elders at some point is snarkily taking a picture to mock the kid instead of just going teach the kid how to do the job properly.

FIFY

Instead of taking the opportunity to use it as a teaching moment for the benefit of the boy, let's take his picture and post it on the internet so we can get attention and lols to fill the empty void in our own lives.

My money is on this. He’s probably doing it that way because that’s the order he was told to do the job in, and he hasn’t been doing it long enough to understand how the steps fit together and when to skip one.

Because they charge us like $4 a patch. The guys who actually drive the trucks will plug if it happens in the field to finish, but the next day someone usually takes in every vehicle with tire issues to get them corrected.

Just what they’ve done since long before I worked here
