Some terrifying bullet points from this Reuters update:
* Lambda now spreading in So. America** is highly infectious and more resistant to vaccines than the original version of the virus
* Researchers found those recovering from COVID (while remaining unvaxed) have immune system antibodies that evolved, becoming more potent and better able to resist new variants
* Rockefeller Univ. reported fully-vaccinated people who never had COVID, will not get antibodies that neutralize new variants, from a 3rd dose of an mRNA vaccine
* mRNA vaccines begin to wane by the 5th month, and their antibodies show "little measurable improvement" in the ability to neutralize a broad variety of new variants
* 3 mutations in Lambda's spike protein help it resist neutralization by vaccine-induced antibodies. 2 additional mutations help make Lambda highly infectious
* Senior researcher Kei Sato of the Univ. of Tokyo, "Lambda can be a potential threat to the human society."
** One also has to wonder why the border is still wide open?

And yet China is virus free with no reported deaths even from the delta variant.

Regardless.
I simply don't understand people who had the virus getting vaccinated.
It just boggles my mind.

Y'all realize we are on our way to Omega, right? As in, the end?

Vaccine, no vaccine, masks, no masks. Whatever the case may be....this isn't good news. Article says these papers haven't been peer-reviewed but....yeah, not good for anyone. Less than a year and we're seeing MAJOR mutations?

Biden is bringing Lambda into the US via infected illegals aliens to follow up on delta. Time to overthrow.

So if you had the vaccine then had a breakthrough case you would be pretty much invincible right?

You antivaxxers are praying for a new variant thats immune to the vaccine so that you can be like "See I told ye they dont werk!!!"

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention keeps its own list of variants of concern and interest within the United States. Notably, lambda is not on the CDC's list as being a variant of interest, concern or high consequence.
This is why there hasn't been much talk of this variant.
The vast majority of cases right now are the Delta strain and thats what people should be focused on.
Here is a good article about it
USA Today
quote:
lambda has some mutations that are similar to other variants that have raised concern, it does not appear to be nearly as transmissible as delta.
quote:
As of June, the WHO said it had identified the lambda variant in 29 countries. Argentina and Chile have also seen rising lambda cases, the WHO said.
However, the variant hasn't spread nearly to the same level on a global scale as the delta variant.
“I know there’s great interest in lambda, but I think people really need to be focused on delta,” Long said. “Most importantly, regardless of the variant, our best defense against all these variants is vaccination.
quote:
Duggal said while there is not reason to believe the vaccines will be ineffective against the lambda variant, more data is need to know exactly how effective it will be. The efficacy may lower some, but hospitalization may still be largely preventable in variant cases with vaccination, he said.
'Nothing in this world is 100%':Those fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can be infected, but serious illness is rare

Nothing really beats natural immunity and genetics. Evolution proves this. If you had it you shouldn’t be forced to take the vaccine. On the other hand…Some people would die without the vaccine. But…what if the vaccine makes an otherwise immune person susceptible to a new variant? What then?

The vaccination and lockdown efforts are futile as long as these third world shite holes spit out variant after variant

I’m super scared of Lambda plus, better known as the ligma variant.
