Turner is going pro, Leach and Soliz left. Leach went to Missouri I believe.
Turner was a one and done rent a player and had a good season.
Leach was told after Opitz last year the position was his, then DVH went shopping for C and found Turner. DVH told Leach the position was his with Turner leaving and the rumor was “Arkansas is looking to add 2-3 more C to the roster.” Leach went to the portal pretty quick after that and a lot of his family was on local Facebook news posts discrediting Arkansas and calling DVH a liar.
Pretty soon after that Soliz hit the portal too.

I’m sure Skenes is a one and done player at this point. I doubt a .408 hitter with 70+ RBI’s on the year is looking to only start when Skenes isn’t C. But who knows. Not sure what their class brings in C wise though.

Stats from that school can be a little inflated. I bet the kid is pretty good, but they don’t play a particularly strong schedule and are generally the most talented team in their conference. And it’s still the SEC. starting 25 games at Arkansas and coming in late for a handful of others is still a good deal for a juco catcher that was still available this late in the recruiting cycle.

That kind of hurts because he'd be a nice bullpen arm to add with Vietmeier gone and Gervase and Reyzelman likely gone as well. A little surprised we haven't added any yet

He won’t explode here because he wouldn’t play much I don’t think.
His power is nice but the guy gets shifted on and it’s a homer or out.
He only batted like .180 in sec play.
Not hating on the guy , but I just don’t see him starting at lsu if he stayed even. I’d much rather start dugas at dh .
He may play better at ole miss though. If he could just have normal low points along with his occasional offensive explosions then that would be enough to be a damn good player, but his lows are lower than I’ve seen for a guy as capable

I think Jay will look to make a splash at catcher. Skenes or Price. While I think he understands the importance of having a good defensive catcher, who really knows if Milazzo will even be healthy enough. Unless Brady Neal shows up, you don’t really want to be stuck with Travinski and 2 Travinski-ish freshman to handle these arms.

Knew of Vanek, but just turned it on so didn’t see the lineup at the start so don’t know who else LA is fielding
