I hated TRL. Didn't need Carson Daily in my life.

Man I loved all of it including real world. MTV is basically all I watched in the late 80s-late 90s.

I watched mtv up to about 2000. Then I really only watched it for Jackass and Fear. I hated Bam Margeras show.

When I was overseas in the 80s my parents would set the vhs to record MTV before they left for work. When they got a pretty good set they would mail it to me. My buddies would watch those tapes over and over never fast forwarding past the commercials.

Yeah pretty much the same here. Tom Green was wild. It was cool to have videos then a random shows.

I remember knowing that welcome to the jungle would come on every day just before 6. I didn’t know why but I loved it. I then realized that it was dial mtv and it was just number one for like a month.

I watched MTV more than anything else all through the 80s. Then they started the "Real World " ,or whatever it was called , and I couldn't stand watching a bunch of whiny losers sit around and complain all the time.

“Real World” was the beginning of the end of MTV. I’ll bet it’s been at least 20 years since I’ve even stopped at MTV when checking the guide to find something to watch.

Cheap "Reality" programming ruined MTV, VH-1, the History Channel, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Science, Travel, Bravo, USA, E! and A&E.

This! The actual “music” didn’t last long. But I enjoyed watching for years.
