The average person knows around 1,000 people.
There have been 1,889 deaths/1M population in the US.
If my math is right, that means the average person will know somewhere around 2 people that have died of Covid.

6:
My boss’s mother in law
My old high school history teacher
Former girls basketball coach at my high school
Two folks i went to church with
A guy who ran a restaurant in my wife’s hometown
Of the 6, 4 were over 70, all 6 were over 60. The two in their 60’s were both what would be considered obese. Not like 400lbs, but definitely like 6’ 250-300lbs.
My mom was hospitalized for a week or so also, she’s 58 and overweight herself, but thankfully she recovered.

One of my very best friends - age 52, died two months ago from it. We had talked and both decided that we weren't worried about getting it. A month later he was dead.
He is the reason I got the pfizer shots. I still can't believe he is gone.
Another good friend just came home after a stint in the ICU and a 3rd damn near died in the early days of this shipt. He still doesn't have full lung capacity.

Less than zero.
For those who may have known/been related to a few octogenarians and nonogenarians who may have passed on with COVID:
Sorry for your loss but we all don’t live forever and making it 8 or 10 decades is a damn good run and far exceeds the average.
I mean, frick, did you really think that a broken hip, or pneumonia, or the common cold, or even an infected cut finger doesn’t take out folks in this age range every minute of everyday?…

1 This person was immunocompromised. And technically beat Covid, but never recovered from the onset of pneumonia
Others that went to the brink were overweight and out of shape

One...last April or May. She was 60, not overweight, relatively healthy other than she had diabetes.

We would see the same responses without covid. Old and unhealthy people die.
