We sold it for cash considerations. Not for players or future picks.
You make it seem like it’s horrible to have more than one second round pick. But somehow a lot of shooters in the NBA were drafted in the second round. It’s better odds to hit 1/4 picks than to hit 1/1 pick.

He might, but you look at someone like Korver when he was traded around the same age, the hawks got Mike Dunleavy for 30 games and Mo Williams for 0 games from Cleveland and no draft picks. Factor in the financial situation, I’m not so sure Utah can get a full dollar for Ingles. It really comes down to how much do value shaving money off your luxury tax bill.

If we could move up to 30 that would be amazing. Have Ingles and you could grab Quentin Grimes at 30, another solid shooter over 40% 3pt

Disappointed we aren’t getting Simmons in return.

Only pick worth keeping is 35.

Sources: The 76ers sent $2 million in cash to the Pelicans for the No. 53 pick. Begins to set the rate for purchasing a pick in tonight's NBA Draft.

2 million is pretty damn high in my recollection for a pick in the 50s.
No problem with taking that deal. Money and human factors are real things, and it gives Griffin latitude with ownership to make moves he might not be able to otherwise.

Didn’t we sell a first round pick for like $3m some years ago?

We did. That was a lowpoint in the franchise.

Holy shite someone paid us $2 million for a late 2nd?? Wow you have the take that deal when you have four 2nd round picks.

Nah. They want it to help try and package with something in a trade.
They might try and buy other picks too.

What year was that? I tried looking it up but couldn’t find anything.
I thought it was the year we picked Darrell Arthur, but the article I found said we “traded” him with no mention of cash.

You gotta give it to Griff, he knows how to overinflate the value of the assets he is trying to get rid of.

I remember we sold it and a white dude that never materialized in the league was picked in that spot. That's all I really recall.

Could be worse. Suns picked Rondo in the first and then traded him for cash to the Celtics

A lot of theorizing that Philly is maneuvering for a big deal by filling the end of the roster with cheap draft picks.
