Yeah this isn't true at all. From PA.
He had Ohio state, Michigan and Penn state literally camped out at his football and basketball games.
This dude was not coming to Louisiana, he was big 10 all the way.
Some of the qbs rated higher than JJ.
Ej Manuel, Andrew luck, Blaine Gabbert, Mike Glennon and Pryor.
And robert griffin was rated lower.

Jefferson would have gotten a huge NIL deal from Shady's with all the publicity he gave them

Ole Miss was the first SEC school to offer Jefferson. He missed his junior season due to a broken wrist, so a lot of schools waited to see how he recovered his senior season. He was also recruited by Alabama, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Auburn. He committed to us right after we offered.

Lets give all the stats
Lee played in 43 games
Please
Coming in to kneel, or throw 1 pass, or hand off 3 times as the clock winds down does not qualify as having 'played' in a game. Nor does it give you an opportunity to add yards, TDs or wins

He almost signed at Louisiana College. It was close.
quote:Hell yes. Think Duante Culpepper.
Would he still be in NFL right now if he was coached right and developed his talent?
quote:Probably a mix between Trevor Lawrence, Terry Bradshaw, and Ryan Leaf.
What would his career be like if he went to another school

I'm just posting raw data. Jefferson had 80more completions in just 113 more attempts passing. Only two more TDs passing but 12 rushing to Lee's 0. 1 fewer INT.
All this proves almost nothing. The offense they played in did not give either a chance to really shine but it was probably better suited to Jefferson. Ultimately, I think Lee never really recovered from that first Alabama game and his first pic in the 2011 game brought all that back to him. All of this goes back to Perriloux

JJ gets tons of hate but I think this guy would've succeeded in the NFL had he played a different position his entire career at LSU. He was pretty damn athletic.

thats interesting he also ended his college career 21-0. But not the good one

Not many QB's or coaches were going to beat Alabama that night. I think history has shown just what both JJ and Miles were up against.
Whats forgotten, is just how talented that Alabama team was and had lost the first game because of poor coaching by Nick himself. So you know he was ultimately prepared and had all those analysts on the staff that LSU did not have. They analyzed every snap JJ and Lee had ever taken at LSU.
Its difficult to beat a great team and coach twice in the same season as it is with a month to prepare.
Its a dam shame, LSU had to play them again after beating them on the road for what shouldve been the right to play someone else for the championship. But life isnt fair.
Miles and JJ wouldve been looked at much differently with a 14-0 record and a Nat'l Championship.

I think he's proven to be the most overrated qb/Heisman winner in the history of the game

We don't beat Alabama in 2011 regular season without Jordan Jefferson...fact. Regardless of what happened later in January, it was a great win.

Umm...I'm pretty sure our defense won that game.
Alabama had the running game completely smothered, and the best thing Lee did at QB was throw an incompletion. He was getting sacked, and throwing the ball up for grabs (and getting picked).
JJ came in, and had enough mobility to lead a couple drives for FGs. It's the one thing Alabama wasn't prepared for that night.
2 things to consider, when everyone crucifies Miles for not bringing Lee into the NCG:
1) Lee could not handle the pass rush, there's no reason to believe he would have had any more success the second time around. He simply would have been battered and threw up more picks, and instead of a slow death the game would have gotten out of hand.
2) If you remember the first game, JJ did give a little more mobility... and the defense held us in it. And an important, but little-remembered fact: the later the game went, the more our O-Line eventually started to win.
We moved the ball late, and in OT, we COULD HAVE SCORED A TD.
In the NCG, Bama moved better, but we still held them to FGs. We weren't moving, but you didn't have to ditch the gameplan down 12-0. We were faced with a) put Lee in and risk 95% disaster, or b) leave JJ in and hope you finally begin to break through. Miles stuck with the thing that worked the first time. It just wasn't our night.

The Jeffersons are the first family of LSU and we should be grateful for all of their son’s contributions.

Throwing another pick-6, presumably.
Bama DBs absolutely had Lee's number and while sticking with Jefferson obviously didn't work, putting in Lee would have been even worse.

247 doesn’t show his other offers, but he was a 4star and the #11 pro-style QB in the country. I believe he was a 3-star when he committed to LSU. I’m sure he had other SEC offers, Destrehan went 15-0 his senior year and he put up some pretty big numbers.
I remember we had been recruiting Terrelle Pryor but the staff backed off because they thought Jefferson was just as good.
In today's offenses he'd be a Kellen mond, or he'd have been an awesome Gus Malzahn QB. Way better than he was under that steampunk manual mode bullshite we were running then.
Miles wasted him.

Jordan Jefferson was terrible. And seemed to get progressively worse. The only reason he is high on any all time list, is firstly, Perrilloux being dismissed. And then, because of Lee's pick 6 mind funk season in 08, and Les' inability to recruit a capable quarterback with a God dang chest, we were stuck with him as the only option for the next 4 years. Until we were given an out with his suspension and Lee played pretty dang well in 2011. But, as we now know, and has already been pointed out, Jefferson did indeed have the goods on Lester evidently a Molester. That, and Lee shitting the bed when given the opportunity vs bama in Game of the century I. Jefferson sucked! Hard!

I disagree. If it was a regular season game I get it. Its the NCG and your getting nothing and Jefferson is playing awful and you have not crossed the 50. If you go back and watch the 9-6 game the reason Jefferson had success was the option. Les being Les figured he would try that again in the NCG and Alabama was very prepared to shut that down which they did.
So maybe Jarrett lee does throw a pick six if hes put in but I would be ok with that knowing you tried everything you could do to win. That has got to haunt Les that he did not do anything to try and get a spark
