If Texas and A&M are not in the same pod it has already been negotiated to Texas' preference. The puckering has already been done but separating the 2 makes no sense!
They are only (roughly) 90 miles apart and would be the 2 closest teams in the Conference. Different pods? Why?
They already have a long history and tradition that rivals Bama/Auburn, OSU/Michigan, Florida/Georgia and any others you can name! Fans of both LOVE this game---only the UT powers that be do not.
Part of why A&M jumped was because Texas was exerting power over the conference to the detriment of all other members. Longhorns Network, etc... Look it up.
Part of that and any proposed separation of the two now, is because Texas looks bad to alums when they lose to A&M. In true chickenshit UT fashion why not eliminate the problem---if we don't play them, we can't lose to them.
I think---if it comes to pass that UT/A&M are not in the same pod---it is highly probable that the SEC has already begun sucking up to the UT money/influence.

EDIT: I stand by all above but everything I've seen/read away from the board has the Aggies doing all the griping and gnashing. I get it. Valid recruiting concerns specifically. Past history of "Little Brother" too. I say "drop a pair" and go kick UT in the arse and the other crap will sort itself out.
Texas has their own issues with it too. But---NO WAY these two teams should be separated! Neither team should get special treatment whether they do/don't want to be in the same division/pod. This yearly game is bigger than the UT/OU State Fair Game and rivals the FL/GA & GUMP/AUBURN games for SEC/TV revenue. And let's just state the obvious: As far as College Football goes, there are no false pretenses left to harp on---It's all about the money in all things and all ways.

Why would you assume A&M would want them in the same pod?

You must be from Assumption Parish. There is nothing but assumption in this post

Aggies don't want them in their pod and maybe Sankey promised them that to ease tensions. But they definitely should be together and have the guaranteed yearly game

I disagree. I think not putting them in the same Pod would be at the request of Texas A&M just as much as Texas, if not more. If they played every year and there is a more constant winner, the recruiting of Texas will tilt to one side. If they are separated and don't play every year, it will depend on overall success on and off the field. Texas A&M is mad about not being the only team from Texas, so they will do what they can to try and keep as space away from Texas.

They are like 110 miles. Starkville is closer to Tuscaloosa.

It would def be AM that would request that. If we vote yes don't put them in our POD. That makes way more sense than the garbage you posted.

How are they already kissing Texas’ arse if nothing has happened?

Would be a damn shame if they aren't in the same pod. Where is this being reported?

Campuses 2 hours apart, fanbases loathe each other, have played 118 times.

That rivalry is one of the reasons why you bring them in. Why duck that to placate a member of the conference who shouldn't even be here (a&m).

Everyone needs to keep in mind that the pod idea that keeps circling around was floated by the hosts of SEC network morning show and has no bearing on what the divisions will look like.

Do you really think that Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU and maybe little brother TX AM are going to kiss UTx butt for anything? The SEC has done just fine over the years without UTx.

Have we officially gone to pods?

Has anyone said aTm and UT won’t be in the same pod?

This looks like pure conjecture on your part.

That said, my biggest concern with this whole thing is that Texas would come in expecting the rest of the SEC to bow down to them and cause trouble if it didn’t happen.

There's only one team's arse that the SEC kisses and that's alabama.

The conspiracy theories that surround Texas are always entertaining to read.
