Texas A&M AD 'caught off guard' by report that Texas wants to join SEC
quote:
HOOVER, Ala. -- Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork is standing up for his school after a Houston Chronicle report that Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC about joining the conference.
quote:
Even so, Bjork said he will be "diligent in our approach to protect Texas A&M." "We want to be the only SEC program in the state of Texas," Bjork said. "There's a reason why Texas A&M left the Big 12 -- to be standalone, to have our own identity."

A&M and Mizzou are gonna definitely vote against adding them. Then only 2 of the remaining 12 to vote no and they are blocked.

I thought A&M didn't care about Texas. I mean, it is all the A&M fans say on the SEC Rant.

Smells like fear.

Even if they get the votes for no, I feel like Sankey is drooling at the thought of those two in the SEC and will do whatever it takes to get them in.

Because it's a terrible idea.

A&M hating it makes me want it more.

Because LSU would either wind up in a pseudo Big 8 division, or they would go to pod scheduling which is just a complete ridiculous idea.
More is not always better, and this is easily one of those cases. I honestly don't know why anyone in the entire conference would want this.

Mizzou insiders are all saying they will vote yes to add. This vote is going to be 13-1

I've never seen one program so utterly terrified of the other like A&M is with the superior program in that State.

If it means more $$$ - then it's going to be hard for any school to turn that down.

Texas brings nothing to the SEC. We already have the best team in that state in the conference.
