Some of y’all don’t understand what Little League is. Little League is the name of the league.
Just like Dixie Youth or Cal Ripken
The Little League teams are travel ball teams.
These teams aren’t made up of your Wreck All Star teams. These teams are made up of legit majors and AAA travel kids that play together all summer.
this is completely false. Little League is a Rec league that is comprised of 8-10 teams. The league is drafted and each team 2-3 stud players, then 5-6 average players and then 2-3 below average players.
At Lafayette Little League the major division is comprised of 11-12 yr olds only and is re-drafted each year. Also there is a rule in place that in order to participate in all stars a player must have been in the league the previous year. This was put in place to prevent 12 yr olds jumping into the league just for all stars.
So yes the all star team is made up of travel ball players but chances are they play on different travel teams. BUT the common denominator is they all played a full season in the Rec league. The kid has to play a minimum number of games to eligible for all stars.
Also LLL plays majority of the games during the week to free up the kids and families to do whatever they want on weekends

I’d love to know how many Little League games the Griffin kid actually played in.

This is completely true, but the all-star teams are made up of 100% travel ball kids. For Eastbank, most of these kids have played with each other or against each other in travel ball since they were 5-6 years old. As kids moved around, it is now comprised of probably 5 different travel ball teams.
The Lafayette little league team is majority Apex baseball out of Lafayette. Probably 7-8 kids from that one team.

that rule was removed this year. Can play all stars if you play rec ball as a 12 year old.
and what he was saying, was all the kids are travel kids that come back for 1 or 2 years while still playing travel just to try and make the LLWS.
That wasnt happening before Eastbank won. now it is again, we shall see if trend continues.

played this year. before that was with tx/fl canes, traction canes and then some local teams. During practices i know he used wood bats and pretty much the kids would just go outside the fence to shag his balls.
Dude works harder than anyone you have ever seen. kid will make it big time if he stays healthy. His dad is S&C coach at dbat and he is there everyday training. Prolly hits 250-300 balls a day on his own pretty much everyday after school. everytime we go he is there working on something. Never seen a work ethic like his, especially with nobody telling him to do it or even working with him. all on his own, just puttin in the work.

pretty much what is happening. The eastbank team that won it was pretty much 2 different travel teams.

Depends on where you are. In the Nola area there are only 2 teams in that U12 age group. The East Bank always advances.
Yes the kids play in the JPRD REC league but they are all major travel ball kids some on the same teams some are on different teams, and the all star LL team is already set

The better ones do for sure, but LLL has over 500 kids in it, they are not all playing ball all weekend

Ahh Dixie Youth - the way it used to be... where you actually had to win several tournaments to go to a "world series".

no just like in SLC most of the kids arent. But the coaches are getting the kids together at 11 and asking them to come play for thier 12 year old season. happening all over.
go scout best kids on the travel teams for your charter area, get them to come with dreams of LLWS and put the best team you can out there in hopes of pulling another eastbank.
eastbank built a whole damn league that is dominant from tball to majors based off of that formula.
but its pretty clear the best baseball is being played in the major metro areas of South Louisiana. Domination from tball through high school and honestly on a regional level they can compete too.
Its great for the state.

it will be held and instead of international teams coming there will be two teams from each region going!

Yeah your nephew played in Morgan City last weekend I bet. That’s Dixie Youth. Much different than Little League.
Not even close to the same
I know. That's why I edited the title and post days ago

Just hoping they don’t cancel again because of the rise of COVID cases. That would be devastating for those boys.

You’re right because LL doesn’t take leads.
That’s huge in so many aspects of learning fundamentals of baseball for the P, MIF, C and baserunners. Especially when they are 12-13 years old.
9-11 it doesn’t matter.
