Covid BS back.....Home School options

Told the misses (no pics) yesterday to start preparing for possibly home schooling our two youngest kids that are still in elementary school....
Did anyone do this last year that could share insight into what they did to home school and how it went? Friend of ours did one online deal from 8-12 each day and they liked it.
......frick these people....i told my kids they would not have to go to school again with a fricking mask on....if they try this shite again I just dont know what to say or do anymore. Just living in a world with a bunch of fricking idiots.
I want my kids at school running around with other kids, being social and having fun. Home schooling takes that away and is the only downfall in my eyes....and save the BS from those that i know will reply that i could let them go to school with masks on to be with other kids....to that i say go frick yourself!

You have to fight fire with fire. Organize with others to continue going to school maskless. Overwhelm the system - it's what leftists do.

I'd be willing to bet that there are certified teachers in your area that teach small groups in a "school like" setting.
Talk to other friends in your area or your kids past teachers ... they're out there doing this in our area in Louisiana for sure.

Teaching pods... my mother is currently creating one for my 4 year old girl. Going to have 5 kids with a retired teacher going over math and English 3 days a week for 2 hours. My mother is going to do some basic science work with them and one of the moms who stays-at-home is going to do some basic geography/social studies type stuff.

My kids are in private school but I know homeschooling is pretty big around here. They’ve kind of joined up for social interaction and extracurricular activities, so they have organized teams that compete, put on plays etc. might want to check that out in your area.

We sent ours to private school. If anyone is still working from home, I would not advise also homeschooling.

Pulled both of my kids (now going to third and sixth grade) out of Catholic school before the start of last year for MANY reasons, not just due to the covid stuff, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back! Side note, my wife and I both went to Catholic school through K-12. We homeschooled the whole year on a curriculum that had text books and workbooks but also had online resources. We chose this because it was highly recommended, was turn key and I didn't want them sitting in front of a screen the whole time.
It took a little getting used to, but we loved it and will be homeschooling at least until high school. The kids missed their old routines and their friends at first but they had more time during the day for other things. Most days they finished schoolwork in 4-5 hours for the older one and 3-4 for the younger.
If your kids play sports or do extracurricular activities, don't worry about the socialization aspect. If they don't, there are homeschool groups that do park days and other things like that. We spend a lot more time as a family, not just doing schoolwork, but in all aspects.
Homeschooling isn't for everyone whether it's because of logistics or work situations or whatever. And to be honest, at first, I kind of felt like I was abandoning what we had invested a lot of time and effort that we put into our children. But that quickly went away as I started to see the benefits of it.
I'm sure everyone's experiences differ but this is our experience so far. Hope this helps.

They announced a month before school was out they could take masks off the last hour of the last day of school...yeah how fricking ridiculous is that?
Anyways....they went to school with masks, it pissed me and many others off. The principal, who was a flaming lib, was abruptly fired less than a month before school was out...would be fair to say a few of us parents assisted in making that happen and proud of it! She was filth as an educator.
Told my kids they would never have to wear masks to school again....I want them in school.....but im sticking to my fricking word.

working on this....she has also stayed in touch with a few teachers who are like minded and willing to go out on there own to teach if mandates are put back into place.

They won’t cancel sports. Which they should IF Covid fear warrants masking. BUT they won’t because they know that if they did it would raise so much fury that people would actually resist.

If the school is run by a bunch of Kovid Karens that isn’t happening anyway. They’re learning a far more damaging lesson if you make them play the game.
