Just drove from around Jeff Davis to the river. Grimy street people everywhere. Trash all over the sidewalks. And there is definitely a marked drop in the quality of "tourists" this town is welcoming of late. Honestly, this could be Port au Prince but for the occasional sighting of a white guy in seersucker.

Saw a lady taking a dump under the overpass by Baronne the other day. And a guy sitting in a doorway on Gravier shooting up.

But LaToya's poll numbers look good, so....

Agreed; lived in the Warehouse district for years until 2019; was down there Saturday night and couldn't believe how different the crowds were.

Ever since moving to the Northshore 10+ years ago, everytime I go over there I see the side I was blinded by when living on the SS. So sad.

Yet you will have some of our mentally challenged posters try to say there is nothing wrong.

Didn’t ICE just drop off a bunch of Haitian refugees at the New Orleans Bus Station?

Look, my business is downtown and I work there. I want this city to thrive. I'm okay with it being kinda quirky and grungy, but I've never seen anything like what is going on now. It is depressing as frick.

I want it to thrive as well. It has turned into a shithole and only getting worse.

not that you vcan compare the 2, but downtown Shreveport was out of control this weekend. You normally walk down Texas street and see maybe 2-3 homeless that keep to themseleves. We were down this Saturday and there was a whole encampment under the bridge steps across from 2 open buisnesses.... we passed what must have been about a dozen on Texas street..one was running all over the place screaming at himself and another one was so drunk he was collapsed on the sidewalk. idk if they if they cleared homeless shelters to make way for the illegals they bussed in, but I've never seen it this bad

Went to a wedding on Baronne recently.

Damn near everyone I talked to at the reception (most from out of town) commented on how trashy/bad Canal St looked.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a thread shitting on New Orleans. And by a while I mean a few days.
