The World Health Organization said the variant’s mutations could increase its transmissibility or possibly increase its resistance to "neutralizing antibodies." The health body called Lambda, or C.37, a "variant of interest."
Any 'interest' went poof in the air a long time ago!

They have to name the variants generic names now because calling them the UK or South African variant shone a huge spotlight on the hypocrisy of not being able to call the whole thing the China Virus. Muh racist.
