If you feel like taking the trip to Middendorf's, it is the GOAT imo. Mike Anderson's is also very solid and right by LSU.

Crawford's on Staring

I personally find Tony's to be way too salty/overseasoned

Crawford's on Staring at Essen would be a solid choice.

Porch Light on Old Perkins is one of my new favorites. A little farther out is Galvez Seafood and Philay's, both very good as well.

Crawfords on Staring or Elsie's Plate and Pie.

Elsie's fried seafood(and chicken fingers)is often overlooked but its really good.

Mason's grill is a solid choice, for just about anything on the menu. I like the way they do their fish and shrimp, some of the popular places I am not a fan of, I don't like the thin chips of fish, I want to actually taste the fish not the breading.

From reading the first page of votes on restaurants... I'd say you'd have a hard time finding bad fried catfish.

My vote goes to goodwood grill.... but thats mainly cause its right by the office and house... great friday catfish place. Sides are terrible though.

Cafe American is good

Anything at Elsies plate is fantastic except the nachoes. But everything else is top notch.

Mike's Seafood on Florida Blvd - the nicest lady takes your order and they have some of the best fried seafood in town. Downside is they only have can drinks or bottles. Upside is it is very affordable and you will have to take home half of your order. This is a hole in the wall place in not the greatest location. A diamond in the rough.
